So Tad is bringing in some Navy Seals to train the team over the next 48 hrs. He got the idea from Turgeon in Maryland.

This to me looks like it could be the last piece to the puzzle for getting this team mentally prepared for the season ahead. From the outside it looks like the whole session is about breaking personal ego's and building a team unity. With so many highly rated freshman this sounds like it could pay dividends quickly. Also gives the players a chance to really step up and develop some leadership. I hope that CU Video gets this recorded for us so we can see and hear the players reaction to "The Program"

That would be a blast. Just grind through a couple of days, and have a deep sense of accomplishment afterwards.

They have a real swimming facility there. Those drills are impossible to do at CU.

As of right now we still ahve a swimming facility at the rec center. Now when the renovation is done over there, that will change

The swimming facility at the rec center is not sufficient for those drills as they were doing 25yard get-outs which require a 25 yard pool that is deep enough to not allow them to stand.

edit: I'm sure the drills can be modified, but it's just a pet peeve of mine. Feel free to ignore my whining.

I am sure they will make do. These are seals. They are masters of improvisation

Meh, if they really wanted to challenge our guys, they'd take them out to Boulder Res and have them do those drills out there. Water temperature out there can't be less than 50 right now. They'd learn to appreciate those sweatshirts. Nancy! Sally! Time to man the hell up!!!

I seem to recall that CU had a pool that was just for diving. It was where we played intramural water polo. It was certainly deep enough that we couldn't touch bottom.

amazing! and if a pool is needed, the city of boulder has a handful of indoor pools at each of the rec centers and if i recall, 1 or 2 of them may be olympic size....

any chance tad tries to complete this as well? hard not to respect and look up to your coach if he is battling right there with you.

Incorrect. There is not an olympic sized pool anywhere in Boulder County. I think the Air Force academy is the only olympic sized pool in the state. I could be wrong on that, though.

Carmody Rec Center in Lakewood, Missy Franklin trains here occasionally and DU.

I stand corrected. Thanks. I'm going off of memory from the mid 80's when I swam for my high school. Obviously, a lot has changed since then.

I had to look it up. I drove by it a few times and knew it was a huge swimming facility and fairly new.

The Pool at Scott Carpenter park is 50 meters... unfortunately, its also outside.

SEAL Training

Pretty funny. The team is doing a 2 day training based on SEAL training. Talton tweeted, "This SEAL training will be the death of me."

BB and the Seals

this probably should be posted elsewhere, but check out CUBuffs.com today - great article on this week's 'workout' with the Navy Seals.
