well with the article mentioned by the RSSBot, katoa pled guilty to some felony crime. and i'm not sure if i dreamt this up or not, but doesn't hawkins have a policy of not having any convicted felons on our team?

anyone with any info (or not), feel free to enlighten us.

However you can bet if he gets so much as an MIP he'll be gone so he is not out of the woods yet.

was he the one that went around the hill beatin ppl up, if he is a felon he can always transfer to Miami or FSU

That was alegedly Greer those charges were greatly reduced as it came out later he *may* not have thrown the first punch.

It's good to hear he's getting a second chance. I sincerely hope for him and his future that he doesn't blow it.

Katoa back in the news (and in jail) again. Another set of assault charges. Apparrently there was a conflict in the street in the middle of the night. A couple people got beat up. Police responded and found paperwork at the scene that indentified Kotoa as being there. Witness descriptions matched him as well. Two counts second degree assault, one count third degree assault, criminal mischief.

He was still on probation for the last assault convictions. Behind bars with $20,000 bail set.

Denver Post article (I refuse to link) had headline of ex-buff player despite the fact that he never played a down for the Buffs and was officially on campus only for a few days on 08'.

What a waste of talent, sounds like he still has some serious issues. If he did in fact assault someone while on probation he is going to have trouble keeping himself from spending some time behind bars this time.

Not seeing the headline, I would assume it says something like "Ex-Buff Katoa charged with assault". That does frustrate me. The guy never played a down of football here. He was never a Buff to begin with, so he can't be an ex-Buff.

I agree with this. Why is this even a topic here?

Good, put him in jail and keep him there! At least that way he can't drag our name through the mud in the media anymore. No patience for people who repeatedly screw up like this!

This was the same incident he had a warrant for. He was just picked up in Utah. Of course it was on the front page and said Ex-Buff.

Yeah...they're only half way across the country away from each other in completely different levels of jail and the federal pen
well excuse the heck out of me, sandusky type will run into him

Big, strong, stupid, angry, rage-filled guys make for crappy citizens, but good football players.
