Not an even a vote in AP pre-season poll

completely fair. 6 true frosh (class that wasn't even ranked in the top 25, or just barely so). Basically 2 or 3 new starters that are either frosh or soph. Got to earn that respect.

do you guys not remember that we have 6 new freshman? That 3 starters, Nate, Dufault, and Brown, graduated? We are going to need to earn the respect we get and one PAC:12 championship is not going to cut it.

Plus over 70% of our scoring graduated. CU hasn't been good nearly long enough to garner voting respect on name and reputation alone.

i was more referring to CSU receiving a vote... i think they arent that good

We're in Colorado, and the Pac-12. Not exactly a hotbed of the college basketball world right now. Perform well in Charleston and things will quickly change.

I want CSU ranked in the top 25, the higher their ranking when we beat them the better.

I don't think we deserve any vote so this doesn't bother me. Preseason polls are useless anyways.

Yep. We have every opportunity to earn a ranking during the OOC.

You're wrong. They're dancing this year.
we will see how much the new coach gets out of that roster. Thinks change, even with good coaches. But you are still probably right. Don't matter tho,c ause we are gonna spank um.

70%? That doesn't sound right at all. We lost Tomlinson and Brown as people who contributed, right? While we return Dre, Ski, and The Mayor.

Ski: 9.1 ppg
Dre: 11.6 ppg
Mayor: 10.0 ppg
Brown: 12.6 ppg
Tomlinson: 5.5 ppg
Dufault: 11.1 ppg
CU ppg: 67.5

Points by Ski, Dre, Mayor: 30.7 ppg (45.49%)
Points by Brown, Dufault, and Tomlinson: 29.2 ppg (43.26%)

I'm not thinking Beau Webb is making up over 25% of the scoring. Now I probably ****ed it up since I'm on my phone but still

I think the 70% stat was from the year before (Higgins, Relephorde and Burks). You are right about this year.

To all those posts that point to the fact that we lost Brown, Dufault, and Nate, please keep in mind that this is college basketball. There's huge turnaround with most programs, including several ranked ahead of us. But we ARE returning one of the best players in college basketball and two of the better freshmen from last year. Considering the contributions of those three in the PAC-12 Tournament and in the NCAA Tournament last year, plus the quality of the incoming freshmen coming in, you'd think we'd get at least a little respect.

And I understand that it doesn't mean much of anything in the long term, but the disrespect bothers me nonetheless.

Win the CC and we'll be firmly in there.

Yup.

So I finally looked at the poll. Zona and UCLA are in the top 25 and Stanford got 2 votes. Do people here honestly think we should be a pre-season favorite over any of those teams? Honestly?

That's one way to look at it. The other is that 51 teams got votes. We didn't. Do you believe that 51 teams are better than us going into this season?

No. I certainly wouldn't argue so. However, I'm also slightly skeptical of how high Dawkins can take Stanford. Hopefully with our boost in size, we can give them some payback.

Or we will still match up okay and they will shoot 1000% from 3 point land.

Keep the lack of respect flowing. Tad will use this.

Think of it this way -- that chip on the shoulder? It's about the size of a redwood stump, right about now.

It's a flippin pre-season poll.

We haven't proven anything. We didn't win the regular season in one of the worst years in recent PAC history. We then graduated most of our statistical contributors. This off a team that before last year hadn't been worth noticing since Chauncey. Beat some decent teams and we will be fine.

The CSU vote is likely from a voter who is a MWC guy and who put in his token votes for his conference. CSU should be decent this year but lets see what happens after everybody has 10 or so games in.

All that really matters is what the committee thinks when it comes time to seed the tourney.
