Good news, Buffs fans

If I hear "He stepped it up in practice and earned the job" I will puke.

Simple, embree thinks they have a shot so he's going with experience. When the buffs are trailing 31-3 at half, he'll bring in hirsch...

This is HAWK part 2.

This administration and lack of caring by alumni across the globe and players makes me sick.

Probably it is that the other guys suck worse.

Why not show that to the fanbase who is doubtful then? You're 1-7. This inaction/stubbornness is ridiculous. Same reason we don't make meaningful adjustments at half

Great Your basing this informed opinion on direct observation. Correct? Oh I forgot we haven't seen any other QB take meaningfull snaps! Maybe Hirshman and Wood both suck, but with 4 games left in a disasterous season why not find out in a meaningfull game.

Don't get too worked up. It's just Embree's futile attemp at 'gamesmanship'. Hirschman will start, but I think everyone including Embree know it's going to be rough sledding. I was at the USC Stanford game and Stanford's D is sick nasty. We'll see Webb mop up after the massacre....

Man, why are you guys ripping me? I should have said, "Probably because the coaches believe the other guys are worse." I do not have a dog in this race. I just want improvement. But I can't believe, after all that has happened at QB, the coaches would start Webb again unless the other guys are just not stepping up in the coach's opinions. Why else, tell me, would the coaches start Webb again?

Again, my comment is based on what I believe the coaches must believe. Not anything I know or believe. I have no idea what goes on in practice.

Because what we have been doing has worked so well. Might as well not try something new and see if we have a guy that may perform better in a game. What could happen? We get beat by 30 or more. That has not happened lately. Never heard of a guy who performs better in a game than practice? God we are doomed with this staff. Keep doing what has already failed.

No, this is the administration teaching us a lesson for complaining too much about Hawkins.

If a guy can't even practice right what makes you want to see him in a game. What kind of message does that send out to the rest of the team? Don't worry about practice because the coaches will play you anyway.

I'm going to the game on Saturday, if Webb starts I will pack up my stuff and head home.

I just don't get it, does Webb have pictures of the coaches that he is blackmailing them with?

Well, Webb is the least of our problems. Maybe not "least." How about one of many?

DBT, one reasonable explanation is the NFL mentality on this staff. Backup QBs in the NFL are mostly anonymous and it takes very special circumstances to make a change.

I have little faith the backups will prove to be an upgrade, but if we go into next season with only one QB on the roster having starting experience (Hirschman's brief start at ASU notwithstanding), this staff deserves a lot of criticism. You cannot be as bad as we have been and still have backups with little experience, not to mention falling back on the inexperience excuse at every turn.

That it's okay to suck in games?

What bothers me is that, apparently, the guys who have been here a while, Hirsch and Woods, did not improve to the point under this staff where they could not beat out a guy who had been here only a few weeks. That speaks to the coaching staff. IMO.

Good point. Not only did Webb beat them out, he blew right by them.
