Votes to be Ranked

If we do well in this tournament (2-1) we will likely be close to a top 25 ranking. Bring on Dayton!

what are we pointing to here? Colorado State got some love... Arizona and UCLA stayed high. Future competition Kansas and Baylor are on there. Lots of things involved.

He is pointing out that the USA Today coaches poll has given us 2 votes to be ranked.

Getting some respect. Now earn it.

We're not defending ****. We're trying to win a new championship.

The team needs to take that attitude Nik. The defending champs is good talk for recruiting but once that ball tips on game 1 everyone is back to the beginning. However we are the current champions and the team needs to realize that everyone will be looking to steal that title. It is our job to keep it.

Get it done and the respect will come.

Yeah, I am hoping that until we play CSU, both our teams go undefeated. It would make for the best Colorado Showdown ever.

3-0 would do the trick.

More likely, 2-1 keeps us lurking in the receiving votes category and we move into the top 20 when we beat Kansas

In other news, even with the rise of NCSU, the ACC is pretty bad this year. Florida State (ranked #25 last week) already lost to South Alabama. I know FSU under Hamilton tends to have a bad early loss or two every year, but take a look around: UNC isn't the level we usually see from them. And the middle of the conference, usually where the ACC's depth becomes apparent, just isn't good this year. Miami, Maryland, Virginia and Clemson just aren't there yet. Miami could be under the radar and halfway decent, Maryland is taking steps forward with Turgeon, Virginia has some excellent young talent, but unless a few of these teams gel and really get going, it's going to be a bad year for the conference. Not one of the ACC's banner years where it goes 8 deep. The bottom teams: VT, Wake Forest and Boston College are just downright bad.
