Practice bubble not going up this season

Shouldn't we put the damn thing up for visiting recruits that come after the season? It is an aminity.

From Cubuffs.com:

"With two games remaining, CU likely will finish the
season without its practice bubble going up. Embree has admitted in the past
that he's a fan of practicing/playing outdoors in the elements, but he said
that's not the reason the practice bubble hasn't yet gone up. Word Monday was
that some of the off-campus crew responsible for putting up the bubble in
seasons past was called away to help with repairs on the East Coast in the wake
of Hurricane Sandy. The bubble usually goes up in mid-October". Said Embree: "It
wasn't my doing."

Sandy hit October 31st.

Hurricane Sandy? That is the excuse? Wow. With an admitted 8%+ unemployment rate you can't find a cew to set up the bubble? Maybe it's true...nothing seems to be going right this year.

Maybe the money they save will be used to help fund Embree's buyout? Sorry for the crazy talk. Why would anyone fire the coach of the worst team in college football?

I don't recall the exact numbers, but doesn't it cost at least 7 figures a year to set that thing up, keep it inflated and warm, and then break it down? I believe I can think of some places in HR to re-allocate that expense given the season is over in 10 days.

Think outside the box!

Edit - CUFan beat me to it!

Even the lame ass excuses are getting tired. Seriously, you can't put it up because the one and only crew that is qualified for such an endeavor is on the East Coast helping out with Hurricane Sandy relief? I mean, honestly. Do they expect us to believe that? That there's ONE crew in the WHOLE ENTIRE COUNTRY that can pull this off, and they're (gawsh darnit) just not available right now because they have to help hurricane victims? Am I the only one who feels that what intelligence I have remaining has just been insulted?

Can we please disband the football program or at least put it on a hiatus until we find someone who cares about it again? The thing is one big embarrassment.

The practice bubble crew does not even want to be associated with CU football, they traveled all the way to the east coast to get away.............

I don't see this as an issue at all. If we were winning no one would be complaining about the bubble not going up. But since we ****ing suck, many of you ****sticks are up in arms over something pretty trivial. It's not like the bubble is going to suddenly turn this coaching staff into competent coaches.

Does anybody know if the Harvest House put up their bubble over the tennis courts yet? Maybe we could ask them if they could spare some of their groundskeepers for a half day to put up the CU practice bubble.

You don't find it insulting that they think they can push off a lame ass excuse like "the crew is helping with Sandy relief" on us and expect us to believe it?

Well you see Sacky, the crew they use are true Buffs who really get the culture...you don't want just anybody setting up your bubble.

I actually find it quite believable and not insulting at all -- since I know absolutely nothing about the work required to set up and maintain the bubble. Had the excuse only been that Embree prefers to practice in the elements, THEN i'd have an issue with the excuse.

It is really not worth getting mad over something like this, but it should highlight the importance of facility upgrades.

I'm not mad because I think the lack of a practice bubble is going to make us play worse. That would be hard to accomplish. I'm mad because I feel like I'm being insulted.

Well I for one am hoping for a lot of snow over the next 2 weeks....as obviously every practice with this coaching staff only hurts our players long term development

I thought I remember reading when we finally finished the bubble, that the construction crew taught us how to put it up ourselves???

Very symbolic.
Half ***** at everything.

WOW. The Administration isn't even pretending any more. This says, "why waste money on a program we have written off already. Sunk cost, man. Sunk cost." Seriously, why are they even putting a team out there unless it has something to do with penalties from the PAC12 for not fielding a team.

The more I think about it, Wyo is right. The admin. just said to heck with it. They really don't care. It is all about appearing to care, so that they can sucker the alums who care about athletics into continuing to pony up the dough. I lose more respect for Bohn everyday, scratch that, I don't have any left to lose. What a joke.

Sometimes, more recently than at any other time in history, I really hate being a Buff Football fan. I just want the bad news to stop but it just keeps coming. So all of the Spring we are going to be outside? Really? They just do not care at CU, they just do not care.

I suppose recruit visits go like this: "And here's the basement. You can see our practice facility folded up over there next to our old baseball equipment."
