Hosed in the coaches' poll...27th!!

In a way I am glad. Makes the team still feel disrespected. At the same time I am very upset that Baylor is still in the top 25 if we aren't.

this just proves why it is so hard for us to make the big dance. If there wasn't a preseason top 25, we would probably be ranked around #10 right now.

man, 4 - 0 with 3 quality wins and you can't sneak in? gmafb

The board is 31 coaches. Scott Drew is on it.
The board for the 2012-13 season: Tommy Amaker, Harvard; Tevester Anderson, Jackson State; Ronnie Arrow, South Alabama; Randy Bennett, Saint Marys; Eddie Biedenbach, North Carolina-Asheville; Jim Boeheim, Syracuse; Rick Byrd, Belmont; Tim Cluess, Iona; Keith Dambrot, Akron; Steve Donahue, Boston College; Scott Drew, Baylor; Matt Driscoll, North Florida; Steve Fisher, San Diego State; Bruiser Flint, Drexel; Tim Floyd, Texas-El Paso; Mark Fox, Georgia; Ben Jacobson, Northern Iowa; Rob Jeter, Wisconsin-Milwaukee; Mike McConathy, Northwestern State; Bob McKillop, Davidson; Ron Fang Mitchell, Coppin State; Matt Painter, Purdue; Dave Paulsen, Bucknell; Saul Phillips, North Dakota State; Steve Pikiell, Stony Brook; Randy Rahe, Weber State; Herb Sendek, Arizona State; Shaka Smart, Virginia Commonwealth; Andrew Toole, Robert Morris; DonVerlin, Idaho; Bob Williams, UC-Santa Barbara.

Maybe they don't watch college basketball. oh well more motivation for the team.

It makes sense, though, because we have a better record than Baylor and also beat them in head-to-head play.

What gives - AP poll on SI.com shows an "updated Monday November 19" but has Baylor at 4-1 up to 16 from 19. Does that just mean they have updated the records but not the rankings? I find it tough to believe CU is still not even receiving votes......

Anyone know when the AP updated rankings are released?

Only two things I'm really surprised by is Wisconsin and UCONN still being in the rankings. Know Wisconsin's loss was to Florida, and the Gators have an elite 8/final 4 caliber team, but it really wasn't a remotely close game. Surprised they only dropped four spots in the rankings. And surprised that UConn is still there after there double overtime game. Add in the fact they're not even eligible for post season tournaments, and it's kinda surprising to see them get as many votes as they have.

With that said, probably the best thing for CU to be seen as being under the radar. Less of a chance that we overlook some of the tougher OOC opponents we have left. Wyoming and CSU will not be easy wins. Buffs keep winning, and they will be ranked sooner then later

This team is young enough that they shouldn't be overlooking anybody

I don't know why you guys are so upset about Baylor being ranked. They only lost by two points to the Charleston Classic champions.

Disrespected again.

Let that the chip on the Buffs' shoulders grow.

Proof once again that they won't be given anything. Dre and a couple other guys remember Selection Sunday in 2011. If you want something, you have to take it. No letdowns. Get angry.

Wisconsin UConn and Baylor being ahead of CU tells you all you need to know. UConn beat Wake (who went behind 40-5 to Iona) in the final seconds and needed 2OT and the refs to edge out Quinipiac. Just shows what a long road it is to get respect - apparently coaches value weaker wins so we better move into this poll next week

Settle down guys, it's only November. The only 'ranking' that matters is your seeding in mid-march.

I know it shouldn't, but the slight kinda irks me.

Oh well, whatever. It's better to be the hunter than the hunted. Just another tool Tad can use to keep the young guns hungry.

Is 23rd that much different than 27th? I can't fake any outrage about this. Yeah I would like to be ranked but in the grand scheme of things it doesn't really matter.

Yes one is top 25. When they show top 25 scores on ESPN and other websites I want to see cu there. I want recruits to see cu there.

I think everyone is overreacting. Upsets in basketball are commonplace, it doesn't automatically mean a team should be ranked. Now I agree, we're currently one of the best 25 teams in the country, but it doesn't upset me that much that we're not ranked yet, it's only week 2. By the reasoning some use around here, if a team like Kansas for some reason lost their first game, they should be unranked because they were 0-1. This isn't football where evry game is pivotal.

Agree that upsets are overrated but two upsets in a row to win an early tournament are not.

You apparently completely miss the point if you're implying that CU beating Baylor and Murray State were upsets. They weren't.

I'm implying that everyone should relax...that is all. This will work itself out over the next couple of weeks, and we will be ranked right where we should be...whatever that may be. We had a great week, let's keep it up and let things take care of themselves.

And I'll be perfectly honest in saying I'm not convinced Ski is going to score 20 points a game the rest of the season. Plenty of questions to be answered still.
