Ringo's new article (Embree turns focus to recruiting) could use your comments

Colorado football fans will have to wait another week for an official announcement from coach Jon Embree about changes to his coaching staff for the 2013 season.

Embree's current list of commitments has been criticized by CU fans who complain the 2013 class is being filled with players who received little if any attention from other BCS level programs. Embree said he is aware of that criticism but he doesn't pay attention to it because he believes in the evaluations and projections he has done on recruits with his assistant coaches.

So Embree believes in the evaluations made on the incoming recruits with his assistant coaches yet he is in the process of making changes to his coaching staff who might have made the so called evaluations with him on the incoming recruits. Hilarious stuff.

knock off the thread jacking for now.

stay on target.

everyone is entitled to his or her opinion.

I thought you virtually guaranteed Embree would be gone?

Was that directed at me? If so, I'd love to know where I said that.

Anyway, there was a great comment in the article that Embree needed to at least do 1 of 2 things:

1. Outrecruit the record
2. Outcoach the talent

He has failed at both. I honestly don't know what the argument is for keeping him unless it's just blind faith in Mac's handpicked coach.

In with comments.

Look at the offers this class has garnered and you will see the reason for the criticism. This looks like a class that an FCS school would be happy with, not a BCS school. It will be ranked in the 60s and he missed out on all of the legit D1 talent in the state of Colorado. Recruiting is going really well and if Jon is kept on at CU, and there is reason to think that is still in question, this class in the 60s will look like an all America class compared to next year. Unfortunately, Jon is in over his head and is not capable of delivering on the one area this staff was supposed to be great at, recruiting. The death spiral has started as the lifeblood of the program is not being developed or delivered. The only way out do the death spiral is to thank Embree for being a great Buff, his contributions and then relieving him of his duties.

I was not optimistic when Embree was hired 2 years ago. I don't care how much NFL coaching experience a staff has when none of them have any coordinating experience. Has anyone seen anything that has resembled an offensive or defensive gameplan this year? I thought last year's recruiting class was good enough to have a few building blocks to work with but I have seen little to no improvement from these players as the year has went on. I understand that we are not the most talented team in the PAC 12 and I didn't even expect us to go to a bowl this year. But I did expect us to go 2-0 to start the year, not lose by 50+ to Fresno State, and at least put up a fight in conference play. I have no idea what this administration is thinking by not making a change all ready. By the time they finish dragging their feet I'm sure 4 or 5 of the top coaching options, at least, will have head coaching jobs elsewhere. And I'm not exactly confident that they will pull the plug on this disaster.

I was one of those that was convinced Embree would be fired after this season. I'm really starting to wonder whether that's the case at this point. If he was going to be fired Bohn would have told him by now, right? Guess we'll know for sure by Monday. At least I hope so. No need to drag this out.

Don't lose heart just yet. Make your opinion heard by sending an email. They are still deciding and they are listening.

Barnett wasn't fired the day after the Texas loss either. I expect we will know for sure by mid week.
