Is Bohn following Nik's script?

The one where Nik said we should do what has worked before, where we hire someone to "import" their culture and winning ways - like what we did w/ Mac & Michigan? It's entirely possible that Bohn is following Crowder's script to the letter.

We all forget that there was a prelude to the hiring of Mac. Crowder first offered the job to a proven HC in a big time conference. He had won the conference several times. Gone to New Year's day bowl games (remember those?). It was going to be a big "splash" hire. The coach Crowder targeted actually accepted the CU job. But, when Tom Osborne got back to Lincoln after leaving Boulder, he changed his mind and called Crowder to back out.

Crowder had to go back the drawing board after missing out on his big time hire, and ended up settling for the DC at Michigan.

Maybe right now Bohn is trying for the equivalent of the Osborne hire; if it works - great. If it doesn't, hiring some up and coming DC (cough... Diaco... cough), would be a pretty good consolation prize...

An allbuffer can hope, right?

I would hope if the current HC's all pass on the job we won't have too great a drop-off going with a coordinator from a big-time program.
