Butch Jones Debates: Tastes Great or Less Filling.....

Pretty much ready to move on...I realize it is a big decision for BJ but others have made their decision in similar or less of a time frame (Darell Hazell, Dave Doeren, Steve Addazio, Gus Malzahn) have all moved from one HC job to another in the same or less time frame. It's not like it is unprecedented, actually moving fast is more the norm. I don't know how long Arky was courting Bret Bielema, but he made the move too.

I don't think you are seeing the earmarks of a guy who is decisive here, but rather a guy who loves to kick the tires, but rarely buys. Jones has been on quite a few short lists over the past two years but stays put.

Of course, I am not privy to the discussions, but the longer this drags on the more leverage BJ has and the less CU has. It is possible that there a real issues being ironed out, but given that Purdue, NCST, BC, Auburn can close the deal in less time makes me think CU is still having to "sell" itself.

May be time to move on and get somebody who can make a decision.

EDIT: Posted this earlier and it got swept to the Island in a clean up of the main coaching thread. I wasn't gonna bother reposting it, but I go to my kid's b-ball practice and check in this evening expecting somebody to **** or get off the pot, and lo and behold, no decision. It must be miserable to go to dinner with this guy, he probably spends hours deciding soup or salad.....

And if you don't like I started a new thread, suck it, I don't care.

Who knows what is going on....I have been paying attention to twitter all day....what a roller coaster ride.

My guess is he has agreed in principle with CU, and they are ironing out the details. Has DP said anything about its source?

Honestly, it seems to me that reaching a decision on this matter should be more of a priority than BJ is giving it. I want this guy to take the reigns, but this fiasco is leaving me with some red flag concerns.

Still hoping for some good news before noon tomorrow.

Maybe good news would be him saying no, or CU pulling the offer, Butch is starting to look like a drama queen.....

My theory is that he has a handshake agreement in place with CU to accept the job, but he wants to do right by Cincy and tie up loose ends. That's the only thing that makes sense - otherwise we are getting played for fools.

Or, perhaps, he wanted to let his players know before the media did but some clown in the CU administration couldn't help running his or her mouth.

This is what I fear...
