I know the timing of things won't work out but if Reid is fired from Philly soon wouldn't he be a no brainer?

Not a fan of how every out of the box idea for new coaches gets summarily trashed immediately especially when no rational arguments are provided so that the poster at least understands why some of us think it's a non-starter.

I agree that the likelihood of him coming is minimal but the reason I would say it is a non-starter is that he hasn't coached at the college level since 1992. Just too many differences b/w college game and NFL for someone out of the college game for 20 years to adjust.

As an Eagles fan who vehemently wants Reid to be fired ASAP...this would crush my soul in ways that are not even imaginable to me right now...

He hasn't been completely into it the last couple of years in the pros. We can't afford that at all at CU.

He has no interest at the college level. You need a reason? Trust me. I have more inside info about the Eagles than Mike Bohn does at CU.

The names of the pro guys will keep popping up simply because they are generally much better known than the college guys.

That said very few guys have successfully transitioned from the pros to college or vice versa, different games.

Reid is a guy who's personal/family life has been a disaster, is burned out, has only seen college games from a player evaluation standpoint, has zero recruiting contacts or base, has limited or no contacts in terms of building a college level staff, and these are only the start of why he would be a bad idea.

This program needs somebody who has the knowledge, contacts, and willingness to build a successfull college program from the current scrapheap that it is. There aren't many pro guys who would come even close to fitting that description.
