Reporting from the 2012 Senior Banquet

Interesting that they look so much bigger in the field. Christian Powell, the big bruiser running back looks like a normally sized guy. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1355078922.437175.jpg

Interesting that the juniors Embree had announced as seniors were not on the program. Have the statuses of Darden, Grossnickle and Thornton potentially changed with the coaching change?

I heard Thornton and Darden are staying

Mile Bohn is not here. The person I asked about it said he is "working." I damn well hope so!

I asked a coach, and was told it was because "they might come back."

They are now showing a highlight video for the season. My highlight so far: the USC cheerleaders. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1355082666.622791.jpg

Now being shown an inspirational video with interviews with the graduating seniors. Very nice sentiments from a group of intelligent, well spoken, and introspective young men.

Ray Polk is particularly impressive.

Tate Nelson, executive director of the C Club is up. Started up with a joke about the old public speaking joke about imagining your audience in underwear, but it backfires in a room full of 300 llb football players.

The 24 new varsity letter earners are introduced.

"There is no such thing as a former Buffs.

"Wins and losses do not define you as a Buff. It is the pride you feel."

"CU is, and always will be, your home."

Lee Willard award for top freshman presented by Eric Bienemy. His voice is horse.

Christian Powell gets the award. They could not have made a better selection.

Jacob Van Eck award for academic achievement to Will Pericak. The students at my table had told me "Will is the smartest guy on the team.

Next is the Bill McCartney Award for Special Teams Excellence. My prediction is Darragh O'Neil.

Coach JD Brookhardt gives the special teams award:

"Special teams have a sniper-type attitude. One shot-one kill"

Punt team was the number 20 punt team in the country.

Winner if award is Brady Day.
