I was just granted a sit down with coach for next week. I will not have unlimited time obviously, but wanted to reach out to the ALLBUFFS MOB and see what questions you would like asked.

I want to try and stay away from the typical ish, and try and get more about him as a person, what makes him tick and how it will translate to the team.

Please post things you want to know about...try and keep it legit please.

"Given the massive increase in the salary pool for assistant coaches compared to both CU historically and to SJSU, do you feel an obligation to extensively search for the best candidates from beyond the existing CU and SJSU staffs?"
 
Has he made contact with any recruits who the previous staff had been recruiting?
 
How big of an impact does new facilities have on a team's ability to compete over the long run? Note that SJSU has improved some facilities and as a result, the football program is in a better place. What's the importance of facilities? Is the facility argument overblown?
 
How long does he envision being at Colorado?

What does he want from his time at Colorado?

What program, of any, in College football does he want to emulate?

How many players does he plan on taking with this recruiting class?
 
What are the strengths of this team right now? Weaknesses? Priorities for Spring ball?
 
To what do you attribute the quick turnarounds you've made at other schools? Are those things present here at Colorado?

The PAC 12 is a stronger conference than the ACC or WAC. Will this have an impact on the turnaround?
 
When he started looking at the Colorado job, what were some of the challenges that were apparent to him, that he will have to overcome to get the football program going in a positive direction?
 
"How badly will CU beat csu this year, by more or less than 30 points?"

"Is a bowl game a realistic goal in your first year here?"

"How long will it be until we are competing for National Championships again?"

"If you were given a red sweater as a Christmas gift, would you cut it up with a bowie knife or light it on fire with blow torch, or just say thank you?"
 
Is recruiting Hawaii on his radar?

how strong are his recruiting ties in the south?

will he set up clinics in Colorado and perhaps within a one-state radius of Colorado, too?
 
Besides California, Colorado, and Texas, what other locations will he focus on for recruiting? Will Utah and Arizona get significant attention?
 
You said at your introduction press conference that stars do not matter in recruiting, will you be pursuing 4's and 5's nevertheless?

When did you know that you wanted to be a football coach?
If you weren't a football coach, what occupation would you choose?
If your son wants to play college football, what advice do you have for him?
Which coaches do you consider mentors?
Which coaches do you consider proteges?

Bonus questions:
Why Colorado?
Our Defense has been historically bad. What is the process for turning that around?
20 sec left in 1st half...other team is punting from midfield...do you put a return man (other than Rocket Ismail on your own 5 yard line to catch the meaningless punt?
Follow up question...if it went spectacularly bad the first time, do you try it again the next year?
 
How does it feel coaching football at a basketball school?

Did legal ganja have anything to do with his decision? Will it be an "X Factor" in recruiting kids, ie. sending green gift packs as a nice gesture?

How much attrition do you expect (if any)?

Do you see going after JUCO players to fill gaps (given the # of JUCO players at SJSU, whereas it's been historically difficult to get JUCO players into CU)?
