RT @KyleRingo: Colorado also commits to a salary pool for football assistant coaches of at least $2.6 million annually.

CU commits to creating 3 new positions Director of recruiting, Director of Academics for football and Football Equipment manager

There is no stipulation in MacIntyre's deal for breaking ground. It all depends on donations from CUBuffs fans now

Ringo is creating confusion here.

@KyleRingo: CU also commits to taking major steps toward construction of indoor facility.Expansion of Dal Ward&Folsom Field within 2 yrs

It's hard to reconcile these two right now.

The reconciliation is this... The Regents have approved a timeline for the facilities stuff but the timeline is not in MacIntyre's contract.

I thought coach MMac stated that the facilities would be done in 5 years, and that was in his contract?

I would be shocked, SHOCKED if Ringo got something wrong that cast CU in a negative light.

My guess: there's no official line-item language about the facilities, it's just included in language about the buyout. No timeline, just "if it's not started by so-and-so date, the buyout is reduced to x"

One of those "believe it when the shovels hit the dirt" things, but its POSSIBLE that there was nothing in the contract about groundbreaking because the groundbreaking is already approved by the regents and scheduled, and they want it to come out during a presser and not slip out in the coach's contract.

Could just be doing different ways of accomplishing the same thing. Frankly, "shovel hit the dirt" language is probably not the greatest language. a shovel can hit the dirt and then construction can take 8 years. "Substantially completed" language is much more powerful.

A minimum of 2.6mil for assistants? Time to get some good coaches. Also, what will the 1.5mil for Dal Ward go to?

"Taking major steps" may also mean doing some combination of the three and they didn't want to tie it to the groundbreaking for any one improvement.

If Ringo correct, facilities in contract definitely a disappointment. Typical CU backtracking or mountain out of mole hill?

More vague tweets, this time from Henderson.
Colorado must have facilities upgrade in place by Dec. 1 or MacIntyre can walk without penalty. #cubuffs
don't like this deadline. hop to god we beat that by a year and a half.
University must also put project out for bid by Dec. 1, 2014 or MacIntyre can walk. #cubuffs

All I care about is that the facilities announcement is soon (recruiting luncheon at the latest), and is in the range that has been thrown out there (~$200 Million).

Just for reference Okie State OC Todd Monken made more than $600,000 according to Mike Gundy. "He could afford to be picky." Monken just took over as HC at So. Miss.

Unfortunately for Gundy, he pays the DC minimum wage on an hourly basis and refuses to let him work any overtime.
