CU was drawing up a plan to fire Embree before Utah game

Embree passed up another opportunity to take the high road by commenting on this story. We get it, you are upset you were bought out, what good does it do anybody to keep crying about it publicly?

Honestly, I would be pissed if I thought the decision was made over just a weekend worth of thought. An AD should be considering his options well before he needs to execute.

I don't find this news to be news.

Neither do I, but I thought it was interesting to read the emails.

Very disappointed that my numerous emails to Mike calling for Jon's head were not included in the open records request.

So they witheld the decision to evaluate Embree status because of how it will affect recruiting. Wow, just wow, can't believe what I am reading. The best move for recruiting is to make the decision sooner. We have already lost 2 recruits because of the uncertainty. And it is too late to salvage this class. I just hope atleast the administration is learning from their mistakes.

the plati email is interesting. is it me or does it ooze the vibe of "i kinda side with the b4l position on this"?

not saying that is what he said, and maybe i'm reading into it...

I found it interesting that Plati was drawing up talking points for Bohn to use for his pregame announcement on the radio.... is that one of the duties of the SID?

They waited until after the last game to make the final decision. From Plati's e-mail it sounds like he thought Embree was going to be asked to make staff changes, and if he was too stubborn, he might be fired. Bohn's agenda gives a different impression. But if Plati's right there is no way those decisions are being made during the season. If Bohn is right, it would still be very rare. Other than that, the decision was done and announced 48 hours after the last game. I hardly think that cost us any recruits.

That's how I read it, too....

Read and don't care if they want Embree fired before or after the game. Embree should have been fired bottom line and was. My gosh, you don't lose millions of dollars, try to save your buddy's ass, act like the world owed you something and call every damn station to say how you needed more time. To be honest, if it were me, his ass would have been gone after the Sac St. game.

Reading it wrong.

He's not giving his opinion on whether to fire Embree or not. He's giving his professional judgment on what will happen if Embree is fired.

I read it the same. I also came away with the impression that he didn't see eye-to-eye with Bohn on the changes MB wanted implemented.

I loved the objective at the top of the agenda, To Compete For National Championship. That is the first time I have seen that in writing. The other stuff, who ****ing cares! Glad to see that they at least put it in writing that is the OBJECTIVE! (all caps)

I'm just happy that the school/AD was thinking about this well before the last game and unlike the DII debacle they pulled the trigger instead of waiting for another year of suck, with a 1% chance of improvement.

It was fascinating to read the emails and text message. Here I was, along with countless others, assuming that these people were completely clueless. This shows that while they might be mostly clueless, they aren't completely clueless.

I liked the header on Bohn's list prior to Embree's firing: Objective: Compete for a national championship.

Let's hope that all is done to try to meet that objective.

Interesting window into the decision making process. I did not see anything inappropriate or scandalous about the emails Actually it was kind of nice to see that it was handled in a professional manner. Last thing we need is a media storm because they said or did something completely inappropriate.

I thought he was fine. He sais he understands its a business. What's wrong with that?

No comment would have been the correct play. He will tell anybody who will listen that it was a grave injustice.

“Wow,” said Embree when he heard about the email Thursday afternoon. “I am surprised.”

“They made it sound like it was a hard decision but it sounds like it was in the works for awhile. They made it sound like they were agonizing about it all weekend but they weren’t. It just makes you wonder when they were starting this process. They had an idea and they were waiting to execute it,” said a miffed Embree.

Whoever leaked this has a beef with Bohn and the dept over the firing.
Likely a FOIA request. That is why you need to be careful with email. Any email on government computers are fair game.

Yeah. That time you tried the Clarence Thomas pickup lines over email could come back to bite you some day.
