CU Buffs coach Mike MacIntyre will bring in both coordinators from San Jose State

Well, hopefully Baer is better than the last DC that "followed" the coach from a WAC school to CU.
*shudder* Collins *shudder*

But on the upside, at least the same OC is coming, we ALSO know what happened when the last OC DIDN'T follow behind the coach from a WAC school to CU.

Congrats to the SJSU coaching staff for tripling their salary just like their HC with the move to CU. I am conflicted between it makes sense given their success and we are going to become the laughing stock of college football where under qualified guys get to run around on daddy's money for a few years before CU (might) figure it out.

I love all of the moaning about our salary pool being wasted on the SJSU assistants. Last I checked, Mike MacIntyre quadrupled his salary and I don't hear much whining about his bump in pay even though he came from the same small time school as his assistants. SJSU's remarkable turnaround wasn't because of a single guy. Every legit head coach will tell you that a massive part of their success is their assistants. Trust a good HC, which I think MacIntyre is, to pick good assistants and pay them a competitive wage based on the level they coach at.

We're not paying a "competitive wage." We're paying top of the Pac-12 type money... so we should expect a top of the Pac-12 type staff.

And that may be exactly what we are getting. We don't know. Slider you are acting like a guy who has money burning a whole in his pocket who wants to spend all this new found money on the shiniest most expensive objects without really knowing if they are any better than what we already have. I'm going to trust our coach in his decision making until he proves otherwise.

I'm not complaining about our coach. I'm fully behind him and his staff. But, yes, their has been discussion about his salary going from around $600K to $2million. It has been discussed. Just can't remember where!

Well at least we are hiring guys who have coached as coordinators at the BCS level. The competition will be a significant step up but hopefully they shouldn't be lost in thier jobs like the last bunch appeared to be.

We shouldn't use the entire salary pool if we're not getting top notch coaches. Don't know if we are or aren't...just sayin.

I'm actually pretty pleased with who he's probably bringing with him from SJSU. I have been pretty outspoken about Lindgren, who is a great hire imo. The OL coach has like 15 years of experience at USC and UCLA. Jeffcoat is pretty promising. Clark sounds like a good up and coming type, but he better be able to recruit well. The DC is pretty meh for me, but if MacIntyre is comfortable with how things work with him, then that's probably good to have.

That leaves RB, WR, TE, and LB coaches still to be hired. We've listed some interest names before, but I'm guessing MacIntyre has a few up his sleeve. I'm going to let it play out before I complain about the staff.

Do people expect him to being in guys he's never worked with before? He has enough new, familiarity with the other coaches is a plus right now.

Ok... who do you want then?

Oh yeah, and how do you know these guys won't become a top of the Pac-12 type staff?

Consider me happy that HCMM is getting what I would assume are his first choices for OC & DC to come here. That was the failing for Hawkins (no Peterson), and a failing for Embree (first time/inexperienced coordinators).

I could care less how much we pay these guys so long as they are good. We clearly have put our trust in MikeMac to run the show, so we need to trust his coaching decisions. He can pay them whatever he wants for all I care.
