I'm pretty excited for this game. I'm not much for Conference pride, but still can't decide who I want to win. Game is on ESPN at 1:30

I am for conference pride in this case. Already have one PAC-12 win over a MWC school, might as well get another.

Could be a really low scoring game because both teams have mediocre to poor offenses, but good defenses.

Kiesau? I have no idea how they're not good on O. They have Kasen Williams, Austin Sefarian-jenkins, Bishop Sankey, Keith Price etc. They're good at nearly every position (I have no idea about the OL)

The OL was just devastated by injuries. They lost three starters for significant stretches of the season. It did not help Keith Price, who had a bit of a sophomore slump.

Screw BjSU. Don't let the MWC trolls have any more ammo. My wish list is Boise loses and Chris Peterson takes the Oregon job after Chip Kelley leaves for the NFL.

OL is the problem.

Best returning OL (soph) retired due to a bum shoulder

3 other starters were hurt, 2 season ending in Sept. 4th starter, Riva, is now back. Everyone on the line but 1 is a soph.

Kiesau is a step down from Nussmeier though in a major way....

Price has zero time and understandably his confidence is shaky. I don't know why UW even tries to pass...

Sankey is quietly developing into a top-flight PAC-12 back. He looks good today.

Also, Shaq Thompson is poised to have a huge sophomore campaign next season. He is starting to figure it all out.

One of my high school friends has a kid on the UW team so I would like to see them pull this one out. Pretty good game.

Didn't realize BSU had played (and now beaten) Pac-12 teams in three straight bowl games. Not a good look for the conference.

Utah was not a PAC-12 member at the time.

The other two teams they have beaten: ASU in 2011 and Washington this year. Neither finished higher than third in their division.

Well, I guess that makes me feel a little bit better, but not much.

Keep in mind all three Boise teams finished or will finish the season ranked, including two top 10 finishes. The two true PAC-12 teams were mediocre. Boise gets to benefit from mediocre competition... again.

We do need Washington to sack up and win that game next season though.

the problem for the pac 12 in the vegas bowl is it pits mwc #1 vs in some years pac 12 4,5 or 6. uw was 4th in the pac 12 north behind stanford, oregon, and oregon st. plus one could argue that ucla, az st and usc are better than wash also

This. Boise plays good football, but they only have to deal with a middle of the PAC team, and next year they can game plan strictly for UDub to start the season while they cruise by directional schools later. Just look at what has happened to Utah since coming to the Pac 12.

True Udub was average in areas but this was the weakest Boise team I've seen in awhile. Pretty sure they had 5 guys drafted this past year. Do they play crap comp? Yes they do. They do have talent as well. I think it's more in the middle as far as criticism.

No measurement after the 4th down play? Seriously?

EXACTLY!! How was there no measurement on that play? It was definitely short too. I was screaming at the TV. The announcers didn't even say anything either. That was the oddest things I have seen in a long time. Final drive, 4th dwn play, on the edge of FG positions, last minute of the game, close play and they just hurried the play along and gave BSU a 1st was it was actually pretty clear it was short.

On another note, Teeth Price taking some heat in Seattle for another pick to end a game. Not his fault really as he was getting killed all day, but he had a lot of awful INT's this year. I blame the chump kicker who cost the Dawgs the WSU game and now this one, missing that short one earlier in the 4th Quarter was awful!

The opener at the New Husky Stadium vs BSU should be a good one. I'll be there.

Desert Dawg, or anyone else who paid more attention to the Huskies this year, I presume Cyler Miles redshirted this year, right?

Miles and Lindquist both redshirted. They, Derrick Brown and Troy Williams could all compete next year for starter or backup.

I blame the OL for the QB play this year. Zero pass protection.

4/5 end of season OL return, along with hopefully 2 starters who went down in Sept. Still a minimum of two years away from solid OL depth I think.

Huskies will be mediocre until they get more beef...

That's not necessarily Boise State's fault...it's the Mountain West's top bowl. They want to go to the Big East to maybe play better than "mediocre" competition, and it falls apart - not their fault.
Mind you, they scheduled games against Oregon, Virginia Tech, Georgia and Michigan State the past four seasons. Won the first three. Those teams wound up in the Rose, Orange and Outback Bowls those respective seasons - and Boise State beat all three.
I'm a CU grad, and yes I live in Boise, but it's pretty silly to just dismiss them because of their schedule. What the hell do they need to do to prove they can compete against anyone? They can't just jump into the Pac-12, and you can't seriously expect them to schedule four SEC teams in nonconference, can you?
Eight guys from their roster last season are in the NFL and Petersen is 9-2 against BCS teams. They're good, and that pisses people off for some reason. Only in college football is the little team that could somehow hated.

How about start the season against four BCS teams. Every other BCS team plays four in a row.

I know was joking around. I'd like to see them in a legit league myself. I don't think they'd win one but I think they'd hold their own.

Thus far, there's only been two schools that have made the jump to a big time conference - Utah and TCU. Neither has done particularly well - mediocre at best. The week-in, week-out schedule that a top tier conference throws at you is too much for those schools to handle. It's not to say that those schools can't compete at some point, but they will have a lot of work to do in order to get up to speed.
