My how things have changed in the past few years for CU basketball.

fake numbers inflated by our ridiculous season ticket sales... but sweet nonetheless!

It didn't seem too busy in the parking lot but when I got into the CEC it looked surprisingly full. 7,000 maybe?

What is your geuss on how many showed?

8-9K The west side was pretty full. Obviously the C-Unit wasn't at full strength. Still, it was amazing to have that many at a non-conference game during winter break. The next day the women had about 2,500 which is also a bit surprising.

Literally every other school has fake numbers too. Our fake numbers are more impressive than theirs. Thus, we win.

Abs point remains valid, regardless of whether the numbers are inflated. The students are out of school, a lot of fans are out of town as well. Combine that with an underwhelming opponent, and even getting 7,000 into the CEC is nothing short of incredible.

Been in CEC during Christmas break when 2K was a large number of fans for a weak non-con game. Anything over 5,000 is outstanding.

Dude you have no perspective - shut up

Historically yeah it would but now no. What we had on Friday against NAU is what we should expect going forward for that type of game.

And I fully realize how god awful basketball attendance has been up until a few years ago but times have changed and I no longer consider 5000 people against NAU to be "outstanding". Outstanding to me now would be 9000 and our attendance Friday was very good.

A few of us here remember the days when under 2k would show up to games. It wasn't that many years ago. It was so weird to watch a game and sit courtside with what felt like under 1000 people. I actually used to call the keg "the tomb" because it was so quiet there.

So yes 5k is awesome now. And we should try to get 9k in there every game.

I fully realize how ****** attendance was and that it wasn't long ago but I don't consider having 5000 people there NOW to be outstanding. It's awesome how far we've come but with that comes changing what we consider outstanding, very good, excellent, etc. I'm having trouble associating having a stadium that's roughly 55% empty outstanding with where we are at right now.

And where are we? We are still selling season tickets for something like $60. That is insanely cheap and will need to triple at a minimum for the program to start making money. So yes we have a nice 2.5 year run but we still have a very long way to go. I think we all want to be like Arizona so what is the best way to get there. More fans or more revenue per fan?

What do you think is better? 5k fans bringing in 4 million of revenue or 9k fans bringing in 3.5 million. I'm not sure where I am at yet. The crowds are nice and create a great game environment but a base of fans that brings in more dollars and can only go up is great too.

Selling out Wofford and setting attendance records

No doubt our ticket prices are dirt cheap and we need to enjoy it right now and we do have a long way to go. Idk, I'm just talking about current but the one thing we can agree on is our progress is amazing (would address more but I'm tired of typing on my phone).

Better to have fans there and protect home court. We can raise prices gradually over the next few years to get where we should be. Do it too soon and I fear we could start having a dead crowd. Boyle + great home court = recruiting greatness

I agree with that too. Supply for season tickets is decreasing rapidly so we should be able to raise prices. They really need to charge more because the piggy bank is going to get busted for Boyle soon.
