Greg Brown to Alabama - NO MISPRINT

He's definitely better suited for a DB coach job than a DC. Still, that is one hell of a nice assistant job to fail up to.... :wow:

Is the connection that Brown and Saban crossed paths when Brown was with the Saints and Saban was at LSU?

Have you seen what Alabama weather does to furniture?

Brown's bringing a Liquid Gold franchise with him. He gets a special deal.

That's surprising. He'll learn from the best. Doesn't Saban basically coach DB's anyway?

Good for him. He is a good secondary coach, but utterly terrible as a DC with our talent. Perhaps it would work with Bamas talent. Either way hell learn how to be a DC from the best. Lets not foo ourselves, Saban runs that D.

Well, good to know that our DBs will have a good landing spot if they decide to transfer?

this is the first step in showing how stupid the majority of CU fans and Bohn are about college football. Brown was ragged on relentlessly by our dumb ass fan base, Now, he gets to coach DB's in the best program in America. He easily could have been a very good coordinator at CU with more talent and experience. But, no - our fan base succeeded in running him off, along with many other good coaches. My guess is that the two bozos who will replace him from SJSU added together might know 50% as much about coaching DB's as Brown does.

Rialto - I am confident his success at Alabama coaching the DB's will be equal to his failure as our DC. Apples and Oranges.

Good luck, Coach Brown!

Embree, Bieniemy, and Brown were all terrific position coaches.

Beat Sac State at home and they are all still here. Not exactly a tall order. Also, if Embree had returned for a 3rd season, it was far from certain that Brown would've returned after producing one of the worst defenses in NCAA history.

In any case, the decision has been made and calling the new coaches "bozos" is not a good way to support the team. Pot meet kettle.

:rofl:I'm pretty sure it was the product on the field, not the fan base, that resulted in coaching changes at CU.

Kent Riddle could have schooled every ST coach in the country, but the results on the field were horrible. I don´t care if Brown has forgotten more about football than our "SJSU bozos" ever knew, I care about the results on the field and it won´t take much to improve there.

Unlike many here I like Greg Brown as a coach and have defended him multiple times. I am in no way surprised that he got a job at a school like Alabama, only surprised that he didn't wait and take a higher paying job in the NFL where he has had tremendous success and is highly respected.

With that in mind it is still simple to say this. Based on the results of the past two years and the general direction of the program Embree, Brown, EB, and they whole bunch deserved nothing less than being fired.

You can't go winless at home, especially when you have a Sac State on the schedule as a free win. You can't lose to a bad CSU team simply because you couldn't make simple adjustments to deal with the 4-5 decent players they had on their team. You can't go into Fresno and give up 70 points to a team that isn't even close to the best team in the MWC and play like you never got off the bus. You can't lose to Hawaii your first season in the manner you did, you can't lose the Washington State game or a number of other games in the manner you did and keep your job.

I like Greg Brown as a coach, I like Jon Embree as a former Buff and as a person (excepting his response to the firing) as well as EB. I think that whoever hires Kanavis is going to get a young star in the coaching ranks. With all that it simply didn't work and wasn't going to work, the plug had to be pulled and to defend the former staff after seeing what happened is ridiculous.

You do realize that our new HC specialized in coaching DB's including under Bill Parcells? Sounds like a bozo to me. Greg Brown is a wonderful DB coach, but there is NOTHING that you can show me that explains two of the worst defenses in Colorado history aren't primarily his responsibility. You are what your results say you are. Greg Brown needed to go.

I have a hard time understanding how you can defend a defense that was near last in several NCAA categories. How many picks did we have this year? How man DTDs? Im really not sure Brown could have turned that around. Im not sure McIntyre can either. We'll see as the saying goes.

The fact that Nick Saban picked him is a testament to his skills and I wish him the best. The fact also was that it was not working here at dear old CU and no one can deny it and it was best that everyone move on. Im reminded of how many stops Bill Belichek made before landing in New England. There are a lot of forces behind the scenes that have to come together to put magic on the field. Brown did not have that here at CU.
