Rialto provides his recruiting analysis of Coach Mac

SJSU or CSU level recruit. In general, we cannot win with these types of recruits regardless of the coach. From what I have seen so far, our recruiting so far is actually WORSE under the new staff than under the old staff.

Rialto, do you work for Embree or just spend your time sniffing his jock?

This is not a national level recruit but the Iowa State offer says he is better than the majority of the guys that Embree was in line to sign. That is what you call an AQ offer.

Deal with it, JE is fired, he isn't coming back.

Coach Mac knows Cali HS talent. He recruited well enough at SJSU to turn a perenial loser into a ranked bowl team. Markeis will have to put on some weight and develop as well before seeing the field on a regular basis but compared to what we were looking at with a continuation of the JE staff I'm more than happy to have him. Looks like he may have a very high ceiling.

From what you've seen in less than a month?

I pretty much agree with this.

JE did a decent job until the reality of his ineffectiveness as a HC did him in. Sales is tough once the product is known to suck.

By yr 2 kids want to see improvement.

Quit trolling our board Joel.

Remind me how many other PAC 12 offers this kid had. How about ZERO. Why change coaches and then recruit kids from California that no other PAC 12 program wants? The fact is that other schools in the PAC 12 were not impressed enough to offer him.

We'll see if we win with the next batch of no name recruits that no one else in a BCS conference wants. It has not worked for the last 10 years, but I am sure it will now.

Didn't you just contradict yourself?

So Tyre adds a kid that he likes and can get to sign early and you think that is representative of a recruiting class with a full recruiting cycle? You are dumber than a box of rocks and far less useful. You can call him out in February 2014 if his class sucks ass. Till then shut the ass that you are talking out of.

Don't know why I bother but to further expose your ignorance last time I checked Iowa State happened to be in the Big XII which is an AQ conference (little schools like Texas and Oklahoma, you might remember them if you are truly a Buff fan) which also happened to qualify for a bowl this year playing in that conference.

Mac will do well in the recruiting wars. It's early in his tenure. Give it some time. He may even make big inroads with JUCOs finally coming to CU...who knows? A lot remains to be played out still.

The bear thinks Macintyre will fare well at CU and turn out better than many of you believe.

Am I getting this right? Rialto and Buff04 are condemning HCMM's recruiting because of ONE COMMIT, who has an offer from a Big 12 school?

Gee, sounds reasonable and logical to me!

(Sarc button off.) What ass-clowns!

It's really early to judge. I do like his plan. We'll see how well he implements.

This year is pretty much over for recruiting. If he feels he wants to take kids with the potential to add weight and play down the road I am fine with it. He does need to do better with next years class. To many projects will get you fired.

Rialto is right. After a 1-11 season with atrocious numbers in almost every category, we should only accept 4* & 5* recruits that choose CU over USC & Oregon.

His first recruiting class at CU is, essentially, Embree's last.

You hit this on the head. It is pretty tough to judge the coach on a recruiting class when he didn't really have a chance to pitch any of the higher rated guys to come here. I would be really impressed if he could flip even a couple of the 3 star commits that are heading to Fresno, San Jose, etc... There is no way he is flipping someone from UCLA, Cal, Wash etc... from a AQ conference unless that team doesn't want them anymore. The product on the field was so bad this year that Embree completely lost momentum in recruiting. Next year is huge for recruiting as we need another top 30 class to fill in with last years successful class. We need difference makers who can play as RS freshman or true Sophomores.

Mac's best recruiting this year will be done in house to keep the players from leaving.

On the original post...
This is honestly, truly, one of the stupidest posts I have ever read on here, and oh boy, have I read some doozies.
Where do we start? One, there was a dead period from DECEMBER 17 TO JANUARY 3. He got a commit right after that period ended.
He's had one guy commit...we have moved beyond "wait a few years to judge" to "one guy commits and two days later we can judge."
And the rest of the class was all Embree guys. MacIntyre, unlike quite a few coaches, is honoring their commitments. That's class.
Did Embo get guys to "flip" in his first class? Yes, and who knows, maybe HCMM can too. Still, those guys were part of the worst team in CU history. If you thought he could just walk in after that horrific season and beat Stanford for a guy, you're truly delusional. If we put out an improved product, I definitely see us beating Pac-12 schools for guys regularly. At least let the guy coach a game. Jesus.

Correct me if I am wrong, but each Cali school can only take so many players each year. Just because a Player doesn't get the offers does not me he can't play. If MM thinks enough of a player to offer then that is good enough for me AT THIS STAGE. Some may hit and some may miss, but not exact science...and will let it play out before passing judgement on this staff who make their own evaluations.

DC is reporting the kid is gonna play LB here and that he was going to USC, but they didn't have scholly for him and asked him to walk on. It's Ringo info, so take it how you want it.

If Embree takes a WAC-caliber roster and loses to Stanford by 3 on the road, he keeps his job and Bohn probably gives him an extension. If HCMM can't sniff PAC recruits two years from now we've got a problem. Prep athletes on the west coast are going to have to take notice of whether the Colorado football program can actually show improvement before they schedule an OV to Boulder.

Let's be honest....USC walkons are probably miles better than most we have out in scolly over the last five years
