AllBuffs practice reports

MacIntyre will have the most liberal policies in recent memory when it comes to who will be able to watch practices. He plans to open every practice to the public and the media, even during the season.

Let the rep flow like water for those who provide us with info...

Hawkins and Embree both expressed concerns about CU fans coming to practices and the producing detailed practice reports on various websites. MacIntyre said he will ask fans not to do that."That's what I told people at San Jose State too, is if I see anything on a blog or I see anything on the Internet, then I will know who you are and I'll ask you not to come back," MacIntyre said. "I think that's fair."
It's not clear how he will identify those people, who generally post on sites under anonymous nicknames.

Apparently he thinks he can police it.

Doesn't make sense to dismiss the impact of scouting practices and then follow it up with that.

I'm guessing he's just leaving himself an out for banning AZ from practice if need be.

I hope they also open the weight room to the public so we can post about how the players are having their best offseason of conditioning in history. Rep will be earned on the merit of "road grade" idiom delivered.

Allbuffs on the honor system? Hmm. Question is, then, how much are we allowed to share?

Bitch, bitch, bitch. Embree closes practices and you people complain. MacIntyre opens practices and you people complain. Jesus Christ.

Thus the name....

I think it's pretty damn clear what HCMM is going to run. He lost his offensive coordinator after 2011 to the Raiders, hires a young guy out of the Big Sky conference and hands the new OC the playbook and says: "This is our offense - learn it". He's hired the whole SJSU staff except a couple position coaches. If anyone wants to see what we will run, they don't have to send anyone to a CU practice - they just can load a SJSU tape.

With Embree, there was a lot of mystery what schemes the Buffaloes would employ. In fact, there is still mystery.

I'll plan to be out there providing a few reports.

I have never understood why coaches close practices.

It's not like fans watching from the stands can tell what the play call is or anything like that. Formations only tell so much.

Besides, I have serious doubts that Oregon et al will be sending scouts down to watch CU's practices.

I'm certain all the teams actually worried about CU (read:none) will really read blog posts about our new plays.

I'll Take it one further as a booster and a season ticket holder I find it offensive that coaches would close all practices to the media and fans. Are there portions of practice that I can appreciate they would prefer not be seen by the whole wide world? Certainly - and I understand and welcome that part of it. But if you mean to tell me you cant open at least 1 practice a week for the fans to come by and watch a significant portion of it, or open up the parts where guys are warming up and running position drills? then I think that is complete and total BS.

Embrace the fans, make them feel wanted, this is after-all their team and them showing up is why you have a job.

I think common sense would dictate how much people are allowed to share:

Player development - e.g. "X is looking really good and getting lots of practice reps" is probably ok.

Intensity/organizational things - e.g. drills being run & for how long, how much of the team involved in different parts, pace of practice, etc, are again, probably ok.

There are some obvious things that would probably be out of bounds, e.g. "they've been practicing the no huddle all week." (assuming that the no huddle isn't part of the normal game plan).

All considered, I actually think allbuffs will probably be pretty good at self-policing posts that would give any real advantage to opponents. I'm guessing that if, for example, in the week leading up to the conference opener, someone posted that the team sure was spending a lot of time practicing fake punts, that the poster would get called out and the post "[redacted]" pretty quickly.

Which of course leads to the next implication: fake practice reports. Toying with other team's posters (and website forums) could become a rather fun pastime...

Put practice reports in Barzil. It would keep the trolls out
and be an added incentive for people to become members

I always like reading them here and getting some thoughts from the users... are we really learning anything big by them? Other than players that may look the part or are standing out, not really. But it gets back to your point-it keeps the fanbase interested and engaged. We really need that right now.

In practice injury reports are something the SID's office has been touchy about in the past.
