Maybe I missed this

Not unusual. Coaches quickly try to fill the positions with the guys they know they want. That usually leaves a few spots (or more open) and you put that on hold.

You then devote all of your time in January to recruiting players, not coaches. Come back in February and see what/who is available. He should NOT be thinking about remaining staff positions at this point.

WHAT!?? When the hell did this happen?!! What happened to the RB coach who was on a 3 year contract??

This is an outrage.
Just like his former boss, he went back to what he knows best-being a position coach.

I wonder if either of them will ever advance beyond that? I heard Tim Tebow might be out of a job soon, he could be a good RB coach.

Actually, cubuffs.com is now listing an updated staff with the TE coach also having RB's. Klayton Adams.

I assume there's room for one more coach still. They certainly have filled out the rest of the org chart, including water boys and girls.

That's interesting. I would have thought you'd want a dedicated RB coach unless they plan to use TEs mostly as half backs in the pistol/spread?

Good catch on Adams adding RBs.

But I should hope there is room for a coach - no one has CB, WR, or special teams duties listed. Though I see now that Walters' isn't listed there (WR).

Coaching RBs and TEs is not exactly overloading an assistant coach.

La Russa isn't listed on there so technically there's room for 2 more coaches.

The site changed from the time that holic linked to it. At first, it had Walters listed as WR/Recruiting Coordinator, it had LaRussa down for CB, and it also had Forman as essentially the S&C coach. Guess they're still working on the site.

One thing I just noticed from the staff link: http://www.cubuffs.com/SportSelect.dbml?SPID=255&SPSID=3854&DB_OEM_ID=600

HCMM has good taste in his Admin Assistant  I am starting to like this guy.

I noticed the same thing right away with the nice looking young lady of Thai descent.....

Also saw there was an assistant director of Performance, a guy from Duke, to help the Stanford guy (Forman). Neither are on there right now.

My guess is they removed everyone who they have yet to "officially announce". Seems like they've been waiting to officially announce the 2nd wave (CB coach, WR coach, Performance coach) until the last coach is hired.

Funny I didn't notice Walters not on the site anymore. Maybe he took that job at NC State or wherever that was :)

Damn it Mike I know you have James Shibest's number. Just call him and offer him lots of money and the opportunity to leave the coaching graveyard that is Memphis. Then he's back in a big boy conference, coaching award-winning special teams. God I would like to see award-winning special teams again.

Who is coaching special teams?
I keep forgetting if it's been said, but none of the coaches on the site have that listed as their duty.

well, if lawdogg is correct and LaRussa previously was showing up on cubuffs.com, then it sounds like he would be the CB and Special Teams coach. Somehow that makes me a little nervous on both counts, but what do I know. Maybe he can take a seminar from Riddle this offseason.

Klayton Adams seems like the logical choice to be promoted if Lindgren moves on

James Shibest, there is a name I haven't heard for a while. He was a hell of aWR at Arky, played at Westchester or MacArthur IIRC, in H-Town before that...lots of good FB players from H-Town.

A couple years down the road obviously. If they were to go with the promote from within route
Honestly man, is your brother in control of your account? This is just weird and makes no sense. Please explain some rational basis why this guy is a future offensive coordinator such that we would logically hire him instead of someone else.

Wasn't the pistol Adams and and Bernardi's O? He was an OC at Sacramento State, setting up that vaunted offense we faced this past season:lol:

Klayton Adams has never been an OC and Bernardi never coached at Sacramento State. Are you feeling all right?
