Join us tonight at Coors events center or live here on the board as the Buffs take on the #19 Ducks of Oregon. The game tips earlier than usual this week at 7pm MT and can be found on ESPN 2. This is the last chance outside of the conference tournament for the Buffs to notch a marquee win and improve our chances of headed to the big dance. This will also be one of the last two chances for Buff fans to observe the glorious hair of Sabatino Chen as the senior plays his second to last game ever at Coors Events Center.

Big game! RealTimeRPI gives the Buffs a 63% chance of winning, predicting 71-62 Buffs win.

Hope we're ready to bring it tonight. This is a golden opportunity for us.

They are both back. I read today that the guy that got hurt is practicing and fine.

They're all "healthy" but Artis is still limited (probably only 20 min), and I'm interested to see how Daymean Dotson plays with that injured hip.

KenPom has this one at 65-62 with CU winning 60% of the time. Sagarin has this at about a 3 point spread. The line in vegas has bounced between CU -2.5 and CU -3.5. The over under is at 129. CU has gone under in 11 of their last 12 games and is 4-13 this year on the over under.

Oregon likes to play fast, but I expect some more #TadBall tonight. With CU looking to slow it down and slug it out. I don't know if CU has the bodies to throw at Oregon if this gets into a up and down transition game.

Transition is when we play our best ball...

No, no, no it isn't.. CU is 10th in the P12 in pace of play, so they don't really play transition ball compared to the rest of the conference. As I stated above CU has gone under the vegas total 76% of the time this year, so they are playing slower and scoring less efficiently than expectations.

Also, CU shoots worse in the first 10 seconds after a rebound than when they hold the ball farther into the shot clock.

Start of poss% of initial shotseFG%
Rebound, 0-10 s17%43%
Rebound, 11-35 s21%51%

We hear a lot about transition offense and pushing the pace of play. The reality is CU doesn't push the pace and when they do they aren't very effective at scoring.

My main argument is that when we play tough D, we force turnovers and that leads to fast breaks. I hate when we decide to settle in a half court offense because a lot of time we end up standing around and Spencer has to jack up a deep three. Just observations....

We miss a lot of transition layups and open 3s. But I think the biggest issue in our transition game is that we rarely have 3 guys on the court at the same time who have good handles. That, at least, will change next year.

That run in Stanford (in Palo Alto) between 13 and 9 minutes in the 2nd was special.

I was pretty drunk at that point but is that when we started playing press D with a smaller lineup? I want to see more of that tonight.

Jesus, 'Tini, as far as I know basketball was invented in 2011 and you're breaking new ground with phrases like "playing press D wiht a smaller lineup."
