Last year for the final Pac-12 regular season game, the Buffs lost to Oregon State 83-69.

I'm not happy with the OSU game, but some of you guys need to calm down. There's a lot of basketball still to be played.

yes and it made me even more mad. Tad has lost to too many Pac-12 bottom dwellers. I don't know how he can build a sense of urgency with the team, but we seem to be able to beat almost anyone and lost to anyone.

Youth.

I remember last year after losing at CSU hearing some players (such as Spencer) saying they didn't realize how important that game was. Spencer made the adjustment and destroyed them this year. For these freshmen, they're basically playing 30 games matched up with a player who would have been one of those 2 or 3 guys he would have needed to get keyed up for last year in high school. The competition is so much better and it's a grind. But it's not just the talent. It's also adjusting to the intensity at which the games are played. We're seeing too much up-and-down because of this.

The most positive sign this year is that the team has won on neutral courts and learned to win its share of games on the road. The program is on the cusp of figuring out "taking care of business" every night. That's the next step.

I'm with goose - the sky is NOT falling. We are going to be ok. This team plays for revenge better than most i've seen (remember gm 3 vs baylor, with the march loss still fresh in their minds?)
They'll be out for blood vs osu, and as long as they just play their game they'll be fine. However, a loss (again) to them is something that could seriously damage our hopes.

It could but I think we'll still get in. Just don't want to back into that situation.

Per Nik: Youth is the main issue. Plus, this is basketball. We are going to lose some we shouldn't. Kids are going to show up flat some nights. Once we reach upper echelon elite status I'll start worrying about a bad loss here or there.

Depends on which team shows up. The team that whoops AZ and OU or loses to Utah and OSU. I'm guessing the kickass team shows up and we are repeat PAC12 champs. KoolAid? Me thinks not...we beat the best teams in the league and can do it again with some focus and luck.

It's not the end of the world, but this loss was very very bad, and there isn't a lot of basketball to be played. CU gets a chance to right the ship by beating OSU and hopefully getting at least one other win in the tournament.

Oregon dropping out of the top 50 also really damaged the RPI.

You mean this wasn't the worst loss in the history of the program? That's what one guy was telling his 10 year old son as I walked out of the CEC.

Every time the Buffs under Boyle have lost to Oregon State, they've gone on to win the Conference Championship.

FACT.

I don't follow BB as closely as many here, but three 20 win seasons is the frickin' promised land as far as I can see. I remember Tom Miller, Joe Harrington et al. BB games when I was at Cu were basically empty because the Buffs were so poor. Tad walks on water BB wise as far as I am concerned.
