Will never forget Bryce Drew (**** Scott Drew btw). Valpo 1998

and, obviously Lehigh over Duke is a favorite for the ages

Lehigh over Duke was unbelievable, I was so mad I missed that game. And it's hard to find any CU/UNLV highlights...whats the deal? It would be sweet to find some highlights from the Billups tourny too.

1991 Richmond Spiders taking down Syracuse in an 15/2 game.

Another great game that ended up being an upset that fell short was James Madison falling by 2 points to Florida in the 1st round back in 1994. Florida went on to the Final Four. The big thing about that game was that it was kind of a triumphant return for Lefty Driesell, one of my favorite all-time coaches. Lefty had been scapegoated by Maryland administrators after Len Bias died of the heart attack and he'd been out of coaching before accepting that JMU job. Lefty was awesome.

The best moment that didn't happen in the history of sports IMO was Gordon Hayward making that shot to beat Duke. I really think that would've topped the Miracle on Ice, given the situation, opponent, and everything. And this is coming from someone who HATES to play the "if game." To me it's like that commercial of the Cubs winning the WS and hell freezing over, this would've been better than that.

My old roommate and very good friend is the guy in the beige jacket that jumps into the far left edge of the screen.

Richmond was the first 15 to win, I think.

15 Hampton over Iowa State 2001

15 Norfolk State over Mizzou last year

George Mason Final Four 2006

VCU over Duke 2007

VCU Final Four 2011

VA has one hell of a Cinderella resume as a state

Princeton coming within a point of knocking out Georgetown in a 16/1 game in 1989. (Should have beaten them.)

Tyus Edney's coast-to-coast drive in under 5 seconds to carry UCLA over Missouri in 1995.

Providence making the Final Four in 1987. No team with Billy Donovan as its best player has any business getting there.

Man, I could go on with these all day. When I had to work in an office, I used to bring a portable tv in during March Madness and set it up on Thursday and Friday for the tourney. This is my favorite sporting event. (Close 2nd is New Year's Day bowl games, but it's not the same since they don't play them all on the 1st any more.)

Gonzaga/Virginia 2001 is an underrated classic. Just one of those games. 40 minutes of intensity, 86-85.

If I understood correctly, JMU just won their first bid to the dance since that 94 team...

Duke always seems to have a Sweet 16 problem, remember that most vividly the year Maryland won when they lost to Indiana. If Duke wins that game, good chance they eventually beat MD.

I'll never forget GMU beat UConn, I was home on Spring Break and really wanted to go to the game but it was sold out and given GMU's proximity a lot of $$$ on the secondary market. My uncle though got tickets through his cushy job even though he doesn't like sports in the least. I was at my grandfathers, he had this relatively tiny TV and wasn't a big sports fan. I mentioned that I really wanted to watch this game, he even got into it. Love Verne's, "By George" line. One of the guys on GMU, Folarian Campbell had eliminated my high school team a few years earlier, and was probably the best player in the county.

The offices that just decide "**** it, were watching basketball" know how to do things. So much work production is lost that day. This is the typical, "if you can't beat'em, join 'em." Too bad no one in my office (it's a small office, just 6 of us), knows or cares about sports.

Most dominating performance I've ever seen was the 1989-90 UNLV squad.

Jerry "Shark" Tarkanian had it loaded that year with Stacey Augmon, Greg Anthony and Larry Johnson. Plus some great college players who didn't do much in the pros like Anderson Hunt and George Ackles. They beat Duke by 30 in the title game. Duke PG Bobby Hurley had nightmares about sharks after that game (true story, bro).

This is JMU's first Dance since 1994. Not a great team, 20-14, but they're hot and CAA teams (George Mason and VCU at the time prove that the CAA doesn't **** around)

Western Kentucky has been crap the last two years in the regular season and has won 4 games in 4 days to make the Dance two years in a row now (won Sun Belt yesterday)

There was a Gonzaga Arizona tilt sometime in the early to mid 2000's, I want to say in the Sweet 16 that was an absolutely incredible game as well.

That game was at McNichols.

My favorite memory is Harold Arceneaux carrying Weber State on his back and taking down North Carolina as a 14 seed. One of the best individual performances I have ever seen.

The aforementioned Tyus Edney and Bryce Drew are two that really stick out in my mind, as well as that Hampton upset of Iowa State. The Cyclones had made it to the Elite 8 the year before and that upset came out of nowhere.

What about Seton Hall/South Florida tonight? Tied 37-37 at the end of regulation, Seton Hall wins 46-42 in OT. Proper the Big East goes out in fitting fashion

South Dakota State won the Summit League auto-bid tonight. They're 25-9, likely looking at a 14 seed. If you want a dark horse, this is a strong candidate. Nate Wolters gets going and anything can happen. I would NOT want to draw these guys if I'm a 3 seed. Sure, there are some holes, but they did go into the Pit and beat New Mexico (New Mexico's only home loss of the season).

I only saw them one game and the white superstar guard golt hurt and they lost, but what was left of the team put up a fight and they looked to be fundamentally sound and well coached. I will definitely be paying attention to who they are matched up against in the 1st round in hopes of an easy upset pick.

They'll definitely be in that 13-14 range, if they draw someone like Arizona, they can pull it off...maybe a Saint Louis or Wisconsin. Yeah, I know what some of you are thinking "Surely South Dakota State can't beat mighty so-and-so!", but it's March Madness. It happens, without fail, every year.

In those kind of situations, it always seems that they don't get the job done. I think in part because of the hype. But not gonna lie, depending on the matchup this could be an appealing one.

I still think this is one of the best endings for a game in march.
