Recap of CU vs. OSU

-The MGM grand is too bright and OSU fans are smug and unlikable.... Just Kidding! I wasn't at the game, but here's a recap of what I saw via the stream. Curious to hear from people who were at the game and their impressions.

-First off, I could care less how we won. Only thing that matters is it's a CU victory! And damn that feels special.

-We missed about 5 point blank buckets in the first 10m. A few inches outside of the rim was a scary place for us early going. Call it nerves or whatever, but we flat out bricked some easy shots we've hit all year.

-The Roberson effect was felt before the silly fouls. We're far more confident with Dre out there on offense and defense. He has a soft touch from 10ft and under.

-At one point, I was convinced we need to swap Booker for Adams. Boyle tried to cut it off at the pass, but by the time he benched Booker for a long stretch, he already jacked up 6 or 7 shots that he missed.

-With Adams, you get everything Booker is bringing, except he isn't as quick. But Adams shot great and was a huge lift for us.

-Dinwiddie is the offense at times. Had a few great assists and knocked down his usual. Was probably shocked more than anything by being so open at times and missed some good looks. Down the stretch, he's the difference maker. What a change from last year where he wasn't as physical.

-Which brings me to Scott. By next year, he should be manhandling people inside. We saw a glimpse of it late in the game with some easy bunnies down low. By this time next year, he might be getting every other shot and having the offense revolve around him.

-XJ played great. Missed some FT, but his rebounding and energy are fantastic. Got chewed out by Boyle early in the 2nd Half for not playing defense, but came back in and was money.

-Have to credit OSU. They hit some circus shots, and pressed on defense. OSU played like a team that was playing for it's coach, probably knowing Robinson is going to get fired. They kept it close with a lot of tough shots and frankly were playing like they were minutes from having the program completely reboot.

-SHT. What can we say. We sent you off in style in another thread, so it's hard to come back with a "when SHT is in, it's like a 4 on 5 power play for the other team". He had up and under for 2pts. That's all I want to say about SHT.

Scott is going to be unbelievable next year... putting Gordon next to him, yikes. It is going to be scary.

Was only on the radio for the game, but you could hear the crowd roar the whole time. Sounds like they about blew the lid off when the mayor hit that half court shot.

It is going to be a downright madhouse when the Buffs play Arizona tomorrow. Two most impressive fan bases in the Pac-12 (attendance #1 and 2). Bring it.

'Zona does have more tradition... but we DO have better fans. Sorry Mildcats.

Scott was a monster on defense and on the glass. Burton did nothing today. It looks like Jelly has his timing back.

Honestly, I think that is what slowed him down after the concussion. Wasn't being scared, wasn't out of shape...he is just a Freshman and it took him a couple games to get his timing back. Sounds simple... but as a College 3/4 myself (granted not as high a level as Scott) I understand how timing is actually harder to get back than shooting.

Scott was unbelievable today. He was on Burton form most of the day and he shut him down. Burton had only 2 pts before Scott had 4 fouls (2-3 of which were crap calls). All I can say is he was one of the best players on the court today.

He's good at putting his elbow out on defense to hold his ground, instead of his hands. And starting to get more aggressive on the boards, too.

I was really happy with what we saw from Josh today. He got knocked down and jumped back up and kept battling. He didn't look like a HS kid being pushed around by men out there. If he keeps that up through the rest of the year, we'll make some noise in March.
