NCAA Round of 32 Thread- Day One

Michigan running away from VCU 60-37. Who had Michigan? I had VCU winning then losing in the Sweet 16 in both of my brackets

I wasn't feeling VCU this year like a lot of people were (although I had them winning this one). Michigan looks very impressive. They're dismantling VCU.

I hope this makes Shaka leave for UCLA where he could reach his full potential. That would take Pac-12 basketball to a much higher level, because our royalty program would actually be elite again. Better for the Buffs (RPI and a juggernaut to get us ready for the Dance).

So everybody done watching the tournament now?

Not me, but I'm not that interested in these first 2 games. I hate how they changed the schedule a few years ago so that now there's only 1 game on at a time thru the first 2.5 games.

Looks like the Big 10 is on their way to getting the first 2 teams into the Sweet 16.

Hell no. But there's only 1 game on right now.

Michigan State is looking good. And Memphis was significantly under-seeded. This is really more like watching two 3-seeds than a 3/6 matchup.

Two Michigan State players (High School teammates) almost got into a fight in their huddle during a timeout.

Now hopefully Louisville blows CSU out by 30

No chance. CSU shoots too well, rebounds too well and is too veteran to turn the ball over much. It wouldn't surprise me if this one came down to the last few minutes.

CSU has no where near the athleticism to keep up with Louisville for 40 IMO

Everything they could ask to go right is going right for CSU and yet this is an even game on the scoreboard. Eventually Louiseville will probably just run them into a deficit they can't handle and the game will be over.

Yup

I think CU is a better basketball team than CSU, but the buffs would be getting boat raced in this game. Having Seniors matters.

Louisville is so fast and athletic. This is getting away from the rammies and could get very ugly. Csewe shooting 67% and down 17

Lots of teams would be getting boat raced by this team including the Buffs. That said CSU has more experience but they simple can't handle the athletic ability of UL. Spencer and Ski are both much faster and quicker than anything that CSU has and their length expands the passing lanes. Chen gives a better third option than CSU has and both XJ and Dre are much more mobile than CSU can look to with XJ having some decent ball skills in the open floor.

That said we would still get killed on the transition game and our "offense" would turn the ball over a bunch to UL. We would also get killed inside where Scott just doesn't have the strength or experience and SHT would be a disaster.

CSU is having most things go their way except turnovers and they're still getting trounced. This could get ugly down the stretch, as they've only used 2 bench players so far.

I'm also amused with the Rams fans complaining about officiating, when they have 14 FT's to Louisville's 8

They already have a season-high in turnovers this game

Louisevilles bench may be better than CSU starters, I know they are better athletically. The only thing that would keep this from getting ugly is a desire to rest the key players and a coaching decision not to embarass Eustacy (sp) who is good friends with UL AD Jurich who used to have the same job at CSU.

Watching this Louiseville team you see something else I think Tad is working on but we aren't close to yet. These guys know who they are, they have an identity with their pressure defense and their system on offense and they play it from start to finish from the starters all the way through the bench. This game has been in garbage time since about seven minutes into the second half and yet Louiseville keeps on doing what they do.

I think Tad is a good enough coach to get us bought into his system but we aren't there . . . . . . . yet.
