I was actually expecting us to be Ralph, "My Doctor says my nose wouldn't bleed so much if I kept my finger out of there."

I love it. Obviously it's more football-oriented, but it fits perfectly with how crappy we've been. Gil certainly tries hard, he just doesn't have the "it" factor.

"Now let's talk rust-proofing! These Colicos will rust up on you like that! Shut up Gil, close the deal! Close the deal!"

I just don't find it that apt or funny. I like the Simpsons, I like the Pac-12, but I'm not getting the correlations they make, so much.

Agreed.

I'm guessing it started out as a good idea with a few that fit really well... and then the joke lost a lot of steam trying to carry it to all 12.

And the character for AllBuffs collectively, is Grandpa Simpson:

"...You see, back in those days, rich men would ride around in Zeppelins, dropping coins on people, and one day I seen J.D. Rockefeller flying by. So I run of the house with a big washtub and... hey! Where are you going? ....Anyway, about my washtub. I'd just used it that morning to wash my turkey, which in those days was known as......a walking-bird. We'd always have walking-bird on Thanksgiving, with all the trimmings: cranberries, injun eyes, yams stuffed with gunpowder. Then we'd all watch football, which in those days was called baseball...

I think Barney would be the quintessential allbuffs character. 35 years old, drunk, with a life of wasted opportunities.

At least after this whole Ed Rush thing, Larry Scott has shown he has what it takes to be compared to Chief Wiggum.
