Was there any doubt?

No. There really was no justified doubt.

You're a moron.

For those who think there was no doubt he would be back, I can now say that during this year I heard from 2 people close to the program that Spencer was "99% gone" after this season. I know he & his family did some research on this year's draft and must have heard the same things that Tini has been posting - this year he's a late first, next year he's a lottery pick, and decided it was worth the extra year.

Was there a doubt... sure.

Did I think there was a great chance he was coming back... absolutely.

Well I wouldn't have been shocked if he had gone to the draft, I expected this to happen. I'm glad he's coming back and hope 'Dre does the same.

Did he ever file paperwork or say anything publicly that would hint he may be leaving? Fact is, he's coming back and I have said that he would through everyone else's worries and concerns.

I never had any doubts he would be back because there was never any indication he would be gone.

Once again, just because you didn't read it on the internet doesn't mean there wasn't a lot of smoke around this.

medford is making a pretty common cognitive mistake. I think babies make it too.

Love internet message board slap fights over who knew what. Especially with the coveted "If you only really knew what I knew" posts. Who cares? He's coming back. /End

Yes, I am grumpy pants this morning. #dealwithit

It may surprise some of you to know that several of our members are involved in the AAU circuit, high school coaching and/or have direct relationships with NBA scouts, CU coaches, administrators, media members and players.

There was well-sourced chatter that Spencer was supremely confident that no matter what the mock drafts said, if he declared for the draft his workouts would vault him into the 1st round this year (40" vertical / rare athleticism). It was a possibility that was strongly considered, but in the end Spencer decided the NBA could wait a year.

So what you're saying is that y'all should listen to me more

Once Tad said that Spencer was going to be back, there was really nothing to worry about unless he changed his mind or something. I'm sure that the kid would have been confident he could have been selected in the first round, had he declared. Sadly, that's the case for a lot of kids that enter the draft early every year.

Just look at the early entry list. We're going to have 50 kids declare early, and how many think they are going to go in the first round? Pretty much all of them feel they can vault themselves into the 1st round if they impress some teams.

It's great to be confident and all, but adding in seniors and a very underrated international talent pool to the mix, there's obviously not enough first round picks to make all of these kids happy

Yet time and time again, these sources are dead wrong or at least inaccurate. I honestly find it annoying that people say they have "insider" information that is telling them one thing, they tease this info, then we hear the oppostite news, they get called on it, they become defensive and tell people that they don't know what they are talking about.

For all I know you and Goose are full of ****, and you have yet to show me otherwise. I guess my point is: don't dangle the info on this site without providing a source. Either don't say anything or provide it at the premium level. Otherwise when somebody calls them out and you rush to their defense, you may end up looking like a good ol' boys club simply defending their own without creating any real credibility.

Just my 2 cents.

You need a hooker. Just my 2 cents.

I'm sure if Goose or Buffnik are given a source, it's not something that they could go public with (at least the naming of the source). Not like they can say "Masai Ujiri loves the kid, and would trade up to get him." I'll say this: scouts, general managers and other front office people say all kinds of stuff. Not all of it can be trusted or is true. I still remember an 18 year old Rashard Lewis breaking down in tears because he slipped to the 2nd round, when he was promised by Houston to be picked in the 1st round. Happens every year to multiple kids.

If you look back, you'll notice I never said that Spencer was going to leave. I never thought he would. But there was enough chatter among people who are close to things that it made me nervous.

I don't agree with you on saying nothing or sourcing it. This isn't a news organization. I read the message boards to not only get the compiled news, but to get the whispers of what's going on with the fluid situations of recruiting, attrition and depth charts. No one said that Spencer was gone, so I don't know why anyone would be called out. Personally, I appreciate that people who heard things from decent sources told us that there was reason we should be concerned and we shouldn't just assume that Spencer would be back for his junior year.

My 2 cents.

Really, go public with a source and burn it? Great, then a place like Allbuffs becomes dead for new and scoop type information. That would be a great strategy. If you do not want to believe it or call it bull**** fine. I think you are wrong, but that is my perogative. But in this case, they have been dead on and the info has been very good.

do you professionally suggest it?

For a professional opinion, you really should consult Craig James. Allegedly, you'll want to set up a Dexter room and make sure you have after-hours access to an incinerator.

99% of the "scoop" on this board is :bs:, there are only a few people that consistently deliver reliable information (buffnik being one of them).
