Boyd played high school ball in Corona, CA at Roosevelt HS. He signed with Coach Mac at San Jose State, but for whatever reason, ended up at a junior college. If that 40 time is legit, and assuming his grades are in order, this is a guy it would be nice to land. Scout showing that we have offered him.

If the 40, height and weight are legit this guy would be a nightmare for DBs.

So what you guys are saying is that you are in favor of recruiting players who are both big and fast? :wink2:

Let's hope that relationship with Mac is still strong. That size and speed combo is ridiculous (if true).

Always worry about JUCOs, but we do have a nice CU connection at his school, Darrin Chiaverini is an assistant there.

Maybe top end speed is about 4.35, but he doesn't have quickness like Devin Ross. Will be a weapon if he adds about 15 pounds at TE.

"My coaching staff at San Jose, they weren't really hard on me. I was their top recruit, they babied my basically. I fell into that trap, felt like I didn't have to be on it as much because of that. I need those coaches that are hard on me and demand the most from me. I want a good foundation and a lot of exposure. I want schools in the Top-25 so I feel like I'm not going to sell my coach short. Coaches who stay on me about school and my potential."

Yikes.

It would be really nice to be able to bring Boyd into the fold as a December graduate with 2 years of eligibility left. Especially if P-Rich goes to the NFL after this year, plugging a guy like Boyd in would give our younger WRs some time to develop instead of needing one of them to step up as our big play threat in 2014.

ESPN.com listed Boyd as the most important target for the Buffs... take that for what you will:

Colorado
WR Sam Boyd (Riverside, Calif./Riverside Community College)
6-4, 235 pounds
Three-star prospect

With the news that Paul Richardson won't be back next year for the Buffaloes, Colorado would benefit from the addition of a big-bodied receiver capable of stepping immediately onto the field. Reeling in Boyd would also mean a big recruiting victory over conference foes Arizona State, Cal and Washington State.

Tired of seeing this name at the top and getting my hopes up. I really do not understand why a top receiver would not want to come here? Colorado has recently sent players to "the league" and most if not all of them are starting. + they would get lots of play time to show their talent. They would be a key roll in our offense and following behind a Jr. that just left for the NFL. Unbelievable, receivers should be calling our coaches and making it easy for them.

I asked this on Rivals, but it looks like he enrolled at sjsu and transferred out after a year. Which would mean he transferred out of MacIntyres program. Can't really find anything on why he left, but.....

I called Sam and wrote that update, obviously there's not much to it. He didn't have a lot to say since CU isn't coming after him too much, but he was nice enough to talk on the phone.

His Off The Hook Recruiting profile states grades were the reason he ended up at Riverside CC.

All this says to me is that he's a self absorbed immature kid who blames everyone else for his issues. We all see his size and speed and want this kid. But notice how Indiana is his best option... I'd expect a kid with his measurable to have his choice from any top school. Mac had this guy in his program and isn't even calling. Great talent, but apparently not worth this risk. Too bad.

I missed it earlier that Boyd had actually played for Mac. That changes things. Because if he played for him and Mac is not recruiting him now, than Mac doesn't want him. Case closed.

This post did nothing to dispel the notion that you may be Kyle Ringo.
