Afternoon Drive: Is CSU AD Graham a good model for CU's search?

Good for CSU. BOLD.
Probably would be too lacking in smoothness for Boulder. Feathers would ruffled too much.

Does he? What progress has he made? Seems like a lot of big talk with little results to show.
Results may not be there, but at least he is making an effort to change things. They are fighting for their lives up there; he has to resort to desperate measures (big talk).

Sure, but what exactly has he accomplished? Anyone can talk a big game...

He's hired two pretty well respected coaches and has raised the profile of their athletic department considerably. His legacy will be the new stadium. Get it built, and he's liable to get his name on it someday.

As to whether that style would play in Boulder - it might, as long as Phil was gone. Part of the reason Graham is enjoying some success is due to the fact that the CSU admin is supporting his efforts. In Boulder, the AD will have to succeed in spite of Phil's assistance.

McElwain - So respected that his best offer was to Colorado State despite winning two national titles at Alabama?

Eustachy - Who else would hire him after his other issues?

I'm with you on McElwain - I don't see it.

But it's ok to admit that Eustachy was a very good hire.
