CU-Air Force....did anyone know this?

I have wondered why we never played the AFA in football and this article sheds some light. Although, not great light for CU, however, I didn't know about any of this.

Nearly 39 years ago, Colorado traveled to Falcon Stadium for the final game in what could have been - what should have been - an enduring football series. The Buffs defeated Air Force in a 28-27 thriller.
Colorado and Air Force have not played a football game since.

I remember raising money for United Way back in the day and people wouldn't give because they were still pissed at the Red Cross during WWII. People have long memories...

I have a Jewish friend that drives a Volkswagon. Memory can be selective.

I, for one, believe every word John P. Koury said, and am sure that he and the lovely Texass ladies he was with had absolutely nothing to do with any unpleasantness that may have occurred. I am also certain that Mr. Koury went into the experience with an open mind and no pre-existing hostility against CU or any pre-existing notions regarding CU fans.

I disagree Junction. I have heard from so many fans of other teams regarding how well they were treated at Folsom, that I have troubles believing that he didn't, in some fashion bring it upon himself. I know that CU fans have had a few moments with nebraska over the years, but aside from that, I remain skeptical of the impartiatlity of some of these gameday reports.

Between the lot of us we have been to hundreds, if not thousands of games over the years. Has anyone ever seen a CU fan throw something at an opposing band or fan?

Seriously, anyone? I have never witnessed more than good natured smack talk. Am I just blind to the myriad of atrocities heaped upon our helpless opposing fans?

Yes. I have.

The worst I've seen was at the Georgia game a few years ago and my dumbass friend was yelling at a family, and specifically a little kid who were walking through the bottom of the student section...he got put on his ass pretty fast though. I've never seen students throwing objects though.

I some drunks jackasses throw a half full water bottle at some couple from Kansas St after a loss. The couple was in their 70s.

Our student section definitely has below average manners, but I think our alumni fans and tailgaters are very welcoming.

Cant be sure, but I think there was a hint of sarcasm in Junctions post that may have gone unnoted

Yes, I would expect that from students but the stories I read from other fans don't mention students.

So moral of the story...stay the hell out of the student section if you're not a CU fan and/or student

Agreed. A small but vocal portion of the CU student body are douchebags at games to visitors. I'm always extra nice to visitors because I know what asshats some of the kids can be.

Yeah I don't get the other fan comments. In the 16 or so years I sat with my dad on both sides of the stadium I've never seen what some of these comments describe.

I too have seen CU fans act badly. But I don't think it's really out of control, as our Texas fan would have us believe.

While a student, I generally held the view that if you walked through the student section wearing an opposing team's gear you pretty much had whatever you got coming. I guess I still kinda feel that way. But I'm admittedly a bad fan.

I want to find that student dbag who was cursing out Greg Brown to his face last year... oh wait
