What does the new AD need to demand from the admin?

Bargaining power won't be any higher than during hiring discussions for the new AD. What should the new AD demand from Benson/DiStefano?

1. Promise not to relocate the soccer facilities on East Campus
2. Commitment to Football Facilities, including relocating Family Housing

What else?

I'm fine with a relocation of the soccer facilities (and the T&F facilities) on East Campus. South Campus would be fine. Main Campus would be fine. But this should be funded as part of the East Campus project. As I understand it, the plan is to build academic buildings on those sites and then let the AD figure out what to do / how to pay for reconstruction.

That relocation of family housing is a big deal. Pretty much everything from the Broadway to the Millenium and from the creek to Arapahoe is now owned by CU. All of that should be re-developed in a much more efficient way with the centerpiece being an IPL that would be large enough to house indoor T&F events.

The AD needs a commitment from the University that excellence in athletics is as important as excellence in academics. CU has some misplaced idea that athletics detract from the Academic mission - this is something that has to change as a fundamental culture. Look at Stanford as a model, believing that excellence in important in all that you do. The Ancient Greeks believed that to be educated you had to be well-rounded in your educational process - exposure to Science, Arts, Philosophy and Athletic endeavors. CU for some funky reason has lost that.

Why not do a side by side comparsion of CU & Stanford's football related facilities?

All of the above and immediate removal of the bike racks at Sackygate!!!

For what purpose? I personally think the facility thing is overblown. Yes it would be nice to have better facilities but CU's are not the worst out there.

But why continue to tie one hand behind our back, especially when conference peers are all updating facilities?

Beer in Folsom for us poor non club worthy folks.

Can't do it, that might actually help with the revenue issues. Because the problem would be the students getting drunk inside the stadium off $7 beers and being carded. :bang:

I really don't see why we can have a beer garden for basketball but not football...other then the name on outside of the basketball facility.

The new AD should demand the right to clean out all these amateurs out of the AD. CU must be one of the most incompetent and blind institutions on the planet.

When was the last time you were in Dal Ward? It houses all sports except for Bball/Vball... and we're adding sports. The GA offices are literally closets!! MacIntyre's office is barely bigger than my bathroom

Except that Ceal is on the committee in charge of hiring the next AD.

What a colossal cluster f u c k.

USC (LA Memorial Colsieum) and Miami, FL (former Orange Bowl) say facilities didn't matter when they won championships.

Both programs also cheated their asses off to land those recruits that won them titles.

and USC actually did upgrade the Colosseum and outside of the stadiums those schools have nice facilities than us.

The coaches at either one of those places drives past more BCS talent on their way into work every morning than the entire state of Colorado produces in 10 years.

If you don't have location working for you in that way, you've got to entice people to leave home. The programs with the ridiculous facilities are the ones that aren't located in recruiting hotbeds. In the SEC, it's Tennessee. In the Pac-12, it's Oregon. In the Big 12, it's Oklahoma State. In the B1G, it's Nebraska. Etc., etc.
