This came up in the most recent Dustin Thomas thread, but who do you think will be our breakout freshman on the men's team?

Whoever is the best shooter. That's something we haven't had since Levi Knutson. If one of the incoming Frosh can light it up from outside, he'll be the guy.

I tend to agree with you. We haven't had a lights out shooter off the bench since Knutson.

Therefore, I think Thomas can be that guy with his outside shot, or Jenkins.

Whomever plays defense within the system. All the true freshmen seem to have the offensive abilities to make a case to get on the court, but they need play defense to a lot of minutes.

Thomas seems to be really driven, but we have no idea how he is going to defend the 3 and 4 as well as play team d.

Since we can only pick one, I'll go with Dustin Thomas. It's great how you can make a legit, strong argument about all four and I think people would have trouble finding issue with any of it.

this is tough. I voted Dustin because he along with Gordon need to fill the void that Dre left. All other positions, we already know who is starting there.

I went with Dustin, but it was a tough call not to pick J-Hop.

I'm very high on all 4, though. I just think those two guys are most ready to have a big immediate impact.

Hopkins. Ridiculously high on that kid.
I love what I've seen in Hopkins' videos and I think he has the most long-term upside, but I just wonder if he'll be a little too mistake-prone to make a big impact early. If he plays under control and doesn't always look for the highlight reel play, he's going to be a big-time player.

I love Dustin but I'm voting for Jaron as well. The kid is an athletic freak. This CU team is going to the Sweet-16, get ready boys, it's going to be a a ride.

This, combined with his spotty outside shooting have me slightly concerned and are definitely things to keep an eye on. That said, the kid just seems to have "it". I'm not comparing him to them, but he could be a Burks/Dinwiddie type player who we can use as a matchup nightmare. Can run the point at times, can play off wing, can cause havoc. I love the versatility he gives us.

In conversations I've had with people around the team, we've discussed this (note: this was before King, so he wasn't part of the discussion). I got Hopkins (athletic freak), Thomas (outside shooting) and Fletcher (playmaking ability) all as answers, but the most common answer that I got - "honestly, I think all three are going to be very special players".

I want to say that I'm still REALLY high on Hopkins, and I don't want anyoen to think I'm slighting him here, but after a few conversations I've had recently, I'm changing my vote to Dustin Thomas.

The front line is gonna be pretty damn good. I can't wait to hear Simon's thoughts on XJ.

Snow is very dissapointed in you for not switching to Jenkins.

saw them in an open gym game a couple weeks back, spence and ski look amazing and XJ has been working out on his handles and it shows!!! my vote is for Tre... he's looking really good...

I have been watching buffs basketball for a long time, this is the first year I remember seeing this:
A) Buffs send awesome player to the League
B) Buffs Improve overall team
A and B do not typically go to together

Dre is an awesome player and it will hurt the team to lose him. But with improvements from the rest of the guy plus all the incoming guys. Colorado should be scaring people. The fact that we have debate like this is just awesome.
