I know I was guilty of forgetting the skills/potential Paul Richardson has. Lets all hope he can stay healthy and perform this season.

Great highlight film. I was at the Cal game when he lit it up. Just hope he stays injury free this year, If he can, it will be a special year for him and our Buffs.

I think you might have been the only one.

I remember being at that game and just watching my jaw hit the ground as he simply abused Cal's very talented secondary. He is truly gifted, and I hope he can put it together for a full season.

I have a hard time remembering him doing it besides the Cal game. Don't get me wrong, he's talented. He is our only playmaker at this point and our only WR true weapon, and his resume is about 1 game thin.

2010
TT: 70 Yds and 2 TDs
@KU: 141 Yds and 2 TDs
ISU: 121 Yds
13.0 Avg in 2010 when rushing and receiving are combined

2011
@Hawaii: 79 Yds and 2 Tds
Cal: 279 Yds and 2 Tds
WSU: 76 Yds and 1 Td
14.1 Avg in 2011 when rushing and receiving are combined

PRich has also missed time every season with injury which has affected his career numbers.

Just the kind of guy Forman was brought in to help rehab, using that Stanford-based system, as further refined by Forman.

Many Stanford guys claim they came back even stronger and were able to perform better after rehabbing the Stanford way. Let's hope that's true of PRich!

When healthy he seems very similar to Desean Jackson to me. In my personal opinion I think that the only reason people say he only has a one game resume is because after the cal game every team realized that if you stop him you stop CU, and a PAC-12 defense should be able to do take away one player with ease. Just for theoretical purposes I bet that if he played at USC or Oregon he would be a thousand yard receiver. That's just my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

I love it when people discount his Cal game, as if it's a bad thing. When is the last time a CU WR went for over 250+ yards in 1 game? Let alone vs a conference opponent. He abused that Cal D, and all of it was him with YAC. If memory serves he wasn't really healthy the 2nd half of 2011 either

It'll certainly help PRich alot if Spruce has a nice year. Even JThomas, DD, and McCollough having good years will help. The less attention they can give PRich the better. Really wish Hobbs could've stuck around, attack the middle for us.

I think he has averaged over 30 yards on his career TD receptions.
33.73 actually. 36% of his touchdown receptions have come from 60 yards+, 45% of his touchdown receptions have come from 50 yards+, and 36% of his touchdown passes have come from 10 yards or closer.

P-Rich is far from a one-hit wonder. He's legit. He'll have big year if he stays healthy. I'm obviously biased, but I'd rate him as the second best receiver in the Pac-12 after Marqise Lee.

While I concur that PRich is a talent and by far the best we have, discounting one game against Cal is a legit thing to do. He played most of two years and he had one game. People have certainly suggested he wasn't 100% the 2H of 2011, and that may be true. A lot of receivers are banged up by that time of year.

Even the stats that 'Tini posts are not crazy. Let's be honest, that KU game was Cody's shot to break some passing records for a reason.

I am the guy that told everyone our Offense was toast when he got hurt last year. That's because I think he does more for the other receivers and the offense than his own stats will show (see Toney Clemons 2H11 stats). He is huge for us. He changes defenses and without him, we are toast. But I'm not sure he will put up Cal-like numbers ever again. He abused our own Defense in the Spring as if it were Cal, but not even quite to that level.

PRich's effect on our offense will be great, but I'm not sure he can get 1000 yards. I'd be very satisfied if he remains healthy enough to draw attention for all 12 games.

If he has the year some of you expect, he gone.

I think even if he doesn't have that breakout year, the odds are more in favor of him leaving than him staying. We've seen it play out year after year where some kid kills it at the combine and some team falls in love with his athleticism. I would think that PRich would be able to put together a pretty impressive 40 time and the Raiders or some team like that would be willing to take a chance on a "good player stuck on a lousy team." I might be wrong, and hopefully I am.

I think if he has a solid year, this is one situation where I would hope he leaves early to get drafted. He has already had one major injury at Colorado and I would absolutely hate to see him decide to come back only to have something catastrophic to happen.

Bold prediction.

And he doesn't need to put up Cal-like numbers ever again - if he averaged half that per game he'd be a Heisman candidate which you definitely can't count on, but that game does show he's got something and can be a playmaker for us which is all we can really ask for.

He was our only offense against Hawaii in 2011. They couldn't stop him, but our coaches didn't realize that until it was too late.

What?! A coaching staff that fails to realize when a player is absolutely killing the other team and doesn't adjust the damn game plan accordingly?! I don't believe it. Also evident in 2010 - Kansas - Speedy has 200 yrds rushing damn near at halftime and yet we throw 30 times in the 2nd half... I sure as hell hope that MacIntyre has the coaching staff and awareness to adjust game plans if something is or isn't working, because that is one thing that we haven't had in 7 years.

I do agree with Buffaholic - he might go off once in a blue moon, but I don't think that he will get those gaudy numbers again (maybe once?)... That being said, his speed, his skill set, and his presence do more for our offense than just him catching the ball. The run game has a huge benefit, the other receivers see a huge benefit, and the offense in general becomes much more successful. Can't wait till the start of the season!

In hindsight not too bold, but there were a lot of jokers on here drinking the kool-aide and believing it was bowling time. When I saw Gerald Thomas showing some speed against CSU I thought there was a glimmer of hope, but GT didn't really do much after that. Richardson is going to need someone else to step up and be his Toney CLemons.

Jeff Thomas? Freshman? Can DD put some fear in the opponents from the slot? Paul R is probably the only playmaker that a DC has actually had to think twice about in some time.

Spruce? He put up Scotty McKnight like freshmen #'s. He is a solid #2 option at WR

I agree. Spruce is undervalued by the cu fanbase. The kid can play.

No one is going to develop into a toney clemmons unless it's Richardson himself. That guy was special and a star.

And to think that Spruce did all that last year with the McCullough on a fly route every play. It will be nice when P-Rich takes the focus of the defense and Powell has a whole year to get ready to be the tailback as opposed to the FB turned TB. I absolutely think that Spruce will have a solid year this year and will be a great compliment for our WR corps.

With yesterday performance these have gone up. If PRich were a baseball player he would be a roided freak who only hits bombs.
