CU Buffs likely to go with Connor Wood as starting quarterback

Connor Wood is going to be the starter?

I'm conflicted. I would like to believe the Post is making an effort to be more friendly to our Buffs and to me that deserves a click. However, the sinking feeling in my gut tells me that as soon as there is a hint of adversity, some blood in the water (maybe a slow start or a player gets in trouble) the Post will be right back to their old ways and dogging us every chance they can.

(Feels kinda like when you have an ex-girlfriend and you know you shouldn't bang her but then you do and then you stay too long after it is over and then you remember why you broke up in the first place. And I don't like that feeling.)

So for now, its no click for you.

DP with another sweet article offering unmatched insight into CU football.
LOL. No ****! I liked the PRich quote though. They are going into the season with a lot of confidence. Of course the Buffs' D has a way of building the confidence of opponents :wow:

Cal starting a true frosh, UCLA did it last year. Just start Sefo.

I think Hundley was a redshirt freshman at UCLA last year. Although, Slick Rick probably should have rolled the dice and started him as a true frosh. I'm pretty sure MM will pick the QB most likely to succeed and that's looking like Wood. I'm not sold on him based on what I've seen thus far, but I hope he proves me wrong.

We need to remember that the DP's coverage of CU is targeted to sports fans in the state that don't follow the Buffs in other ways. So, casual fans and a good percentage of the old fans. This is news to them.

old as in age or old as in former?

Because I think the results would be about the same and I'd rather get Sefo the experience.

Basing it from what we've seen at practice is that Wood is clearly ahead of everyone else and it's not really close. Sefo needs to redshirt.

A redshirt year can actually be more beneficial than bad experience as a true freshman. See: Oregon and Marcus Mariota.

Plus the quarterback may get get sacked ten times a game this year. We don't need our true freshman future star dealing with that

I don't understand why every single year, so many people think our true freshman qb is a sure-fire NFL hall of famer, before they ever even play a snap. I mean, how many qbs in a row have we had that people on this forum have hyped up to be the next big thing, only to either switch positions and never play a down or transfer to another school and never play a down? It's kind of ridiculous, at least let the guy field a single live game snap before going crazy about him.

The answer is probably in the teens, the funnier question is which hyped QB was the most ridiculous. I vote for BCS/Clark Evans.
