Another Spencer Dinwiddie Interview from adidas Nations

Great interview. Spencer is very well spoken and is a true team player. I love how he continues to mention his team and our goals as opposed to just his! Can't wait until November.
 
DraftExpress has Spencer Dinwiddie as their #2 Junior. Have to imagine he gets a bump into the mid or late 1st when they redo their mock draft
 
He has prototypical size for a SG at the NBA level. You don't see too many 6'6" starting PG's in the NBA. Also, whether it's on Dinwiddie or more how Boyle uses him, Spencer's assist to turnover ratio has not been good at the college level.

I get the NBA SG stuff but didn't he play PG on the USA basketball college team? And I know he is listed as a G on our roster but everyone knows he is a PG. It seems their scouting is a bit lacking.
 
He has versatility to play either role. He could've been developed for either...Boyle chose to make him PG. He is very versatile and allow teams the option to use him in several roles. His HIGH BBall IQ make him an ideal candidate for PG. At NBA level it really depends...he can go both ways and allow you to play small or play big. Very nice piece to have in NBA.
 
At the PG position he becomes a matchup nightmare for just about anyone at either level. His shooting is good enough to be a SG, but he lacks the consistent aggressiveness to make him a star at that position I think. Honestly if the Mayor wanted to take over a game, he could. He has all the skills.
 
During Spencer's first year, he fulfilled a distinct need for the team. He was a very significant scorer as a freshman because that is what the team needed from him. As a sophomore, his role changed. He still needed to score, but he had to offer leadership for the freshmen; as well as provide support and stability for the other players on the team. He also had to navigate the politics of the team last season. He is a "team first" player and tends to think in terms of doing what's best for the team before considering himself. This will be an interesting year because we will see his unencumbered ability to lead the team. Should be fun! :thumbsup:

Did you forget about the CSU game last year? He absolutely owned that game. I thought that he was going to be able to do that more throughout the season, but that wasnt his role.
Also, if my memory serves me correctly he came on very strong during the almost rally in SLC.
Other than those instances though, he served as more of a facilitator last year than someone who could take over games.
