SJSU vs. CSU-2012 Highlights

Thought this might be interesting since the team is also looking closely at this game film. We will be running very similar Offense and Defense of SJSU against a very similar offense and defense for CSU. Yes I know we don't have Fales but this may be the closest we can get until Sunday to figuring out the type of schemes we should see. Noone on here would complain if we achieve a similar result!

That reverse/throw fooled everyone. I liked to see the block down the field as well. I hope for a similar result.

the questions remain, can we get any decent QB play and can our D do anything that resembles making a play?

I don't know if Wood can make half the throws that were on the highlight film. Our D must show huge improvement over last year or CSU scores 30 points just by running plays without penalties.

Understand reservations about Wood, but let's keep them based in reality. The kid can make all the throws in that highlight film and then some...when he has the time. What jumped out was the protection that Fales had on a lot of those throws which is a testament to the OL play (I don't know if Connor will have that kind of time). The "knock on Wood" is that he gets really erratic when he's under pressure and once he's made a bad throw, he has a hard time bouncing back.

fify.

That Fales is legit. Hope Wood can stand up in the pocket and make those throws at some point.

I also hope our OL can hold up... Not sure what to expect yet.

you gotta check out the 2012 SDSU highlights. That's awesome! Please do that here! Think our President would be in the locker room after the game thanking the players???

The thing we do have working for us is most of those passes, while some deep routes were in there, they developed quickly and Fales was able to get the ball out quickly

I agree that the blocking was pretty good on most of the highlights so hope we can hold up with our OL and support from our backs (feel quite good about that when Powell is in).

I also noticed, looks like HCMM's team definitely goes after the turnover, ripping at the ball when they have the carrier stopped. That could be huge to improve our T/O ratio.

In general, watching that tape from last year gets me pretty pumped that we can and should win this game. We don't have Fales, but before last season Fales was not on anyone's radar. If Connor has improved the mental part with coaching and better schemes and more reps than he should be a good and efficient QB this year. He will make some bonehead mistakes sometimes though given his inexperience at the college level.

Go Buffs!
