Kickoff lunchon - one week from today.

I have not seen a thread regarding this the annual Kickoff Luncheon. It is next week - the link is here. I am sure there are still tickets and tables available. I have my table already.

I usually go to the one in downtown Denver, but it looks like they won't have that this year? I would rather hit the recruting one, and I have to go mini golf in the charity event for DD and BW

Will not be able to make that one, but will likely be going to a couple of the coaches luncheons.

Not going this year. I've probably been to at least a dozen of these things. There really isn't much change from year to year.

I bought a table for all of the luncheons starting with Barnett, through Hawkins and through Embree. At this point I have a bad case of indigestion and need to take a break. Hoping not being there will be good for the team.

I am interested to see the production quality this year. During the Barnett years this was a not to be missed event, lots of highlights and rousing speeches. It really fell off during the Hawkins years with one year being so bad I was embarrassed that I had invited people. The last couple with Embree were okay. I don't know if is the coach or the AD (or someone else) who dictates the production but I would like to see something that energizes the fan base a little bit.

I bought a ticket, but I don't know if I'll be in Boulder yet or not. Trying to get there a day early.

Just to be clear, though, I have every intention of letting my CSU ticket go to waste, even though I'll be there this weekend.

You know what? I went to most of these for the last 6-7 years. Make my modest but steady donations annually to various funds.

... and I haven't received any kind of information about any luncheon at the usual email address. First I'd heard of this. Weird.

I'm sure you can find it on the website somewhere, but I'm not sure where. Seriously, it's been underpublicized in the most impressive manner. If Embree had been maintained, I'd understand, but seriously, we have a new coach.

I'm sure I CAN find it, but I find it odd that an organization would not market to the dolts who have attended blindly and loyally in the past. I forgot all about this event, and the school to which I gave my kids, my loyalty and my money forgot about me. (dramatic, huh?)

Hell hath no fury like that of a cannibal scorned.

The luncheon was very well attended. I was pleasantly surprised. Nothing too earth shattering...the usual cast spoke. They interviewed the team captains (a segment I wish they would drop). Talked to Brian Lindgren mostly about how he was settling into Boulder. Biggest standing ovation of the Day was when MacIntyre introduced Gary Barnett and asked him to stand. Nice video on what Folsom meant to the players.
