We have a top three that can make plays for the first time in years. PRich was sensational, but Spruce might have had the most quiet 99-yard game I have ever seen. Then there is DD. I thought the guy was a complete bust, but props to him, the TD catch and reverse were both huge plays.

Also props to the group for keeping their cool against a group of CSU defensive backs that were hell bent on talking smack.

Spruce was straight ballin today. Really benefiting from not being the focus point of the D.

I guess I missed it, but JThomas was suspended for this game? Will be nice to have him out there as well next week. We'll probably need him, Central Arky aint no joke.

Thomas and Kafovalu each for a team rules violation. Sucks especially knowing they've gotten in the doghouse before for personal conduct. Hope they get their heads on straight because I'd love the depth they'd provide when eligible.

Not only did PRich make the two huge plays but also showed he is a threat on other routes. His presence forced the defense to open up the field. Part of the reason those middle passes to the TE and some of the passes to the flats were there.

Goodsen impressed me. He looked like a WR including both of his catches in the endzone (one on the 2 point conversion.) He has enough speed and elusiveness to make a nice balance to PRich.

Spruce's 99 yards were earned. He had good YAK, made some challenged catches and ran some routes that required perfect timing. He may become Woods security blanket. Excellent compliment to the first two.

Also saw a little out of McColloch who I think will make some important catches for us. With the other guys out there he will be better able to use his size to get open and make catches.

It's easier to laugh at the smack when you are putting up 400 yards in the passing game.

I thought these receivers would be the strength of the team, and they were. We have speed, moves and PRich learned to get separation on the long bombs.

The way we looked, one of my KoolAid inspired predictions is possible...Coach Mac as PAC-12 Coach of the Year.

Go Buffs!

Saw that.. will be nice to get them both back and hopefully they cut out whatever shenanigans they've been up to.

As the season goes along, I'm hoping to see Devin Ross and Jeff Thomas get into the mix. I like the top 3 a lot and Tyler McCulloch is a dependable backup, but those guys can make us so much more explosive than what we saw today.

I agree. Spruce had a couple great plays and DD made me eat my words about him being a waste of a scholarship (last year).

PRich had those two big plays, but didn't do much otherwise, perhaps due to the attention?

C-Wood was finding open guys and using more than his first and 2nd option. He did get away with a couple questionable throws that he shouldn't have thrown. Very nice overall.

PRich had 10 catches, despite the attention. He also was targeted on a couple deep incompletions, so he kept the secondary honest. Dude was a force today. We will have to get more creative going forward, but he showed why so many think he is a special talent.

Devin looks the part big time! He is like a razor knife in action per speed and routes. Hope it looks that way in a game very soon. Thomas also....

Troy is the perfect coach for those guys! All business!

WB&CO could do that to you and they did it with Goodson. Remember, he played DB his freshman year and RB last year, buried on the depth chart.

He was a WR in HS, yet NOBODY figured out enough to try him there last year??? WTF?

The biggest travesty was that he made one damn mistake in the opener last year and never got out of the doghouse. Same thing happened to Josh Ford with the fumble in the ASU game.

With Hawk, things got over-the-top with positivity to the point where no one could be honest about someone lacking ability or failing to pull his weight.

With Embo, things got over-the-top with players feeling like they'd failed their coaches or weren't one of their guys and not knowing how to get back in good graces.

So far, it seems like HCMM is striking the right balance on positivity and accountability. Certain players are blossoming under this.
