Our last staff was: completely, utterly, incomprehensibly, bad.

Just seeing what we did out of Wood today confirms it. I am sure we are 2 seconds away from the last staff's only apologist telling us how MikeMac loses this game without Prich or how, had Embo had Prich healthy he'd still have a job. The reality of it is :

- we took a punch and came back
- we had guys who looked lost last year look like ballers
- we didnt show boat because we drilled someone who got a first down
- we had minimal stupid errors

things we havent seen in years.

1,000% agree

While I do think that PRich would have probably had a positive impact on at least the CSU game last year, I agree with everything else completely.

It showed very early when CBS showed a clip of our guys looking lost and getting torched by CSU last year, and there was no confusion like that at all, even early on in the first game of the year.

I can't remember the last CU-CSU game where we didn't turn the ball over.

Totally agree...I'm excited to see what this team can do this season with coaching like that.

fify....and wholly agree to the nth degree! WB&CO lost me with their arrogance early on: forcing a clunky style on the talent available; using coaching methods that went out of style in college, 20 years ago; ignoring the teaching aspects and assuming the kids would do what you wanted.....and on and on!

And who would have gotten him the ball? Webb?

Some huge differences

Zero delay of game calls
Virtually zero times when it looked like the team wasn't sure of what they were doing
few penalties with a distinct absence of illegal formation, illegal shift, false start calles
Finished each half with time outs left to use to manage clock if needed
organized substitution
energy and enthusiasm but no leapfrog
An offensive game that included enough variety to keep the defense guessing.
Most of the game on schedule with few 2nd or 3rd and long plays
A tough stretch early in the second half but no panic and a fairly consistent effort.
FG and XP kicking smooth and efficient 7 for 7
Solid pass protection most of the game
Few dropped passes, fumbles, errors of distraction.

Still have some issues
lack of push on many running plays (not helped by ToJo having trouble finding and running to a hole even if it was there.
Most of the game our pass rush make them look like an NFL line
Not much from the return game
And of course the biggy:
Horrible kick coverage that gave up 14 points.

We start to look like a college football team. Going to have some rough times ahead since we have a real lack of talent but this year is going to be much better than last even in losing and we finally have hope for the future with something to back it.

The last staff did have a lot of issues, but to be fair, they also had to play a lot of freshmen. Having P Rich back and a more experienced team helps.

Just winning the games we're supposed to is a huge step forward right now, and I think we all have confidence this staff will do that, at an absolute minimum. The difference in this team from the end of last year to today was pretty incredible.

I can't see how they would be. We looked good, but the running game was lame, Connor missed some easy passes and the special teams were atrocious.

Seems like many of his passes that were incomplete were the long balls, and yet he still managed 33/46. Love the hunger this team seems to have, but Wood gave us a hell of a game.

Beat that horse! Beat it!

:dead-horse-fast2::dead-horse-fast2::dead-horse-fast2::dead-horse-fast2::dead-horse-fast2::dead-horse-fast2::dead-horse-fast2:

7 for the 7 long years of horrendous coaching that preceded this

The last staff did have a lot of issues, but to be fair, they also chose to play a lot of freshmen, without coaching them as to what to do or how to communicate. Having P Rich back and a more experienced team helps.

Yet a further refinement!
