ESPN is using the QBR as a way to rate QBs now. I'm interested in other's thoughts about this. The metrics are on the QB stats page...IMO they are not particularly clear.

Idk how to read it or what it reads, but Connor is rated 1 above Carr right now in QBR. Thats gotta be good right?

So if I understand the metric correctly, YAC would hurt the rating correct? For example, if a wr turns a six yd slant into an 80 yd td, the QB gets a portion of the credit. My understanding is that a productivity percentage is assigned to each play. Seems like it could be subjective to me. It also looks like it benefits duel threat QBs, more.

Is there an office building in Connecticut full of evaluators who rate each play in college football?
