BuffStampede Free Column: CU Must Find a Way to Get Students Into Games on Time

It's not that hard to improve. Let the students get tickets that work at all entrances instead of forcing them all into one line. Half of the cards don't even scan so they have to type in he 15 digit number themselves. Let them pick up actual tickets if they want and it will get a lot better

BuffGirl has been getting into the media alot lately:

So to Plati this is all on the kids who don't arrive early? Students should be there earlier, but clearly the problem is more than that.

I kind of get wrapped up in the pregame stuff too sometimes, and if it weren't for me constantly checking my watch, I'd miss Ralphie all the time. Thousands of people just mill about, seemingly unaware of the impending kickoff. Plus, Ralphie does not always run at the exact same time (i.e. never always 5 minutes before kickoff), TV has alot to say about when things happen. Maybe some kind alarm or buffalo horn can be sounded 20 or 30 minutes before Ralphie comes out?

Rick George needs to look at what some other schools do. A great example is Utah with its MUSS program.

Students who join get all kinds of benefits (including the best seats assigned in the student section). There's a special tailgate for MUSS members and they get them into the game on time.

MUSS

Also before everyone starts bashing Dave, I told him of my idea for a solution after the interview was conducted and he liked it a lot. Maybe something will be done.

Had he/they even looked into a solution prior to you telling him?

It is quite possible to "traverse" the stadium quite quickly. I have done it many times.

Plus you get to charge the field 3-4 times a game!

Utah kids don't drink which is 99% of the reason they like to go in late at other schools such as CU

In my first couple years (04&05) when bball was terrible they provided pizza at the begining of the game for students.
Give them pizza! Oh and booze

EDIT: Looking at the schedule 05 was ok, 06 was the worst.

Are we the only ones suggesting they do away with the student entrance? It wouldn't solve all their problems, but it would help.
