Thursday night game is a better than usual matchup. ACC action of #3 Clemson at NC State.

Wolfpack is up 7-6 in the 2nd quarter. They're running the ball effectively, playing inspired defense, and are at home. Clemson's earned it's reputation for a queef or two every season, too.

Worth watching.

Maybe its just me, but there seem to be very few games that are worth watching this week.

Yeah. It's the last week before conference play really gets going. No one wants to schedule a big game this week.

But we've got a few conference matchups and it seems like we always get some WTF?!?! upsets in a week like this.

Refurbished Carter-Finley is not a fun place to play at night. It's like a Lubbock or Manhattan night game of our Big XII days. Pistol Pete at QB for NCSU.

The fact that GameDay will be at North Dakota State tells you all you need to know about this week's schedule.

In all fairness, there's a few games that would "typically" be pretty - LSU/Auburn, MSU/ND, Tenn/FL, USC/Utah St. But yes, putting week 4 in a vacuum...not so great.

btw - go San Diego St and BYU

Pete Thomas has a gun. If he leads the Pack to an 8 win season they might as well pull the plug on the Ram message boards.

Utah State vs. USC - good game. Evenly matched but USU takes it.
S. Dakota vs. Nebraska. Whoever scores first. S. Dakota will power run it down the Nubs throat if they get much of a lead early. Nubs will quit on Bo Peep. If Taylor Martinez is healthy, he could exploit lack of speed on S. Dakota side with QB zone read.

When I lived in LA and my buddy was at USC dental school, we'd go to Trojan games and root for whoever they were playing. As obnoxiously as we could. Still hate the U of Spoiled Children.
Nebraska? Then moved here and became a CU fan and was appalled at how they would take over our stadium in red, and then claim we were bad fans. Hate Nebraska. Hate 'em.

Wow that 4 fourth down checkpoint drive that took up most of the fourth quarter and brought ncstate within 12 points was awesome!!! :bang:

Best part of that game last night

Heard he is out with turf toe... going with backups (yea two qb's). I am predicting meltdown nub nation, they lose by 20. That running back at S. dakota st. is GOOD. and a senior qb's that has played at nu before + like 20 nebraska kids on their roster that are pissed.

I don't know about the rest of you, but after the way Fresno stepped up after the flood -- I'm cheering for them to take Boise behind the woodshed tonight.

These Carr's don't mess around when it comes to gettin married. I remember many crowd shots of David's wife in the stands when he was at Fresno.

If we can get Hawaii as a replacement in the schedule it doesn't bother me at all that we aren't playing Fresno this year.

The score last year in no way represented an accurate measure of the talent levels of CU and Fresno. It did show the difference in coaching and confidence.

Our coaching is way better this year than last but they haven't had much time to build confidence and get used to playing M2s way. This Fresno team is dangerous with a QB who can make the throws and some recievers and RBs who can turn simple defensive mistakes into TDs.

Let us play them in anothe couple years and we will be fine against them, this year might have been a problem.

Go Bulldogs

But in behalf of Texans fans everywhere...David Carr YOU SUCK!

Little hard to throw the ball when you are flat on your back with 3 defensive linemen on you.

I think he got sacked so much that he got gunshy. He wasn't great but those Texan teams SUCKED.

Seeing them tonight after seeing them against Washington this Boise team is not up to what they have been in recent years.

No doubt he had a sieve for an O-Line for the first two years. After that he was pretty much a PTSD QB. But it was no secret in Houston that he was not much of a leader on that team. And if you are a QB and a #1 overall pick you better be a leader.

Even when they finally got him some decent protection he was worthless as a QB. Dude was known as "check down" Carr. He took one look down field and dumped it to his RB.

Solid gold cajones to run a punt fake inside your own 10 yard line. Didn't end up turning into points but it was a gutsy call.

Leadership is one of those things that in most people has to be developed. Carr was a classic example of wasting a draft choice by taking someone who was not ready for the situation. Nobody will ever know but if he had gone to a team where he had been given some time to get adjusted and where there was some established veteran leadership to support him he may have become at least a competent NFL starting QB.

Instead he became driven by an instict to chuck and duck always expecting the next burst of pain as he got hit again.

It easy to understand why Houston fans don't like him since he was the hope and the face of the franchise when he was drafted and become a huge dissapointment instead.

His brother looks like a very good college QB but I don't think he is going to do well in the NFL either. Glad he didn't face the Buffs though.
