Colorado State men’s basketball head coach Larry Eustachy announced Wednesday that Rams guard Jesse Carr has re-injured the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee for a second time in just more than 12 months, prematurely ending the senior’s collegiate career.

He averaged 7.2 points two years ago before missing all of last year it looks like. Tough break for the kid but things are not looking good for CSU bball this year.

gotta think that game in Foco is a must win. Won't want a loss to CSU on our schedule. Even away, it will hurt our ratings.

Damn, that sucks for that kid. Missing your junior and senior seasons must be rough.

It's gonna be an enjoyable game to witness this year. 2011 sucked. Some 15 year old after was talking chit along with all the other poors before they got into their tractors.

I really, really hope school doesn't interfere with this one, I really want to make the trip up to FoCo to watch the game.

I'm 100% in on this one. Definitely not taking the Buff bus or whatever since it was late last time. Roberson's girl stalker about had a meltdown

Sorry to hear that. Wish him the best. On a side note, there is no reason that the Buffs shouldn't blow their doors off this season. All 5 starters graduated, and now an expected major contributor is now gone. They will be rebuilding from the ground up.

Feel bad for the kid - but that has got to be a knock on their outlook. Probably lose a lot of leadership in addition to a starter who has been a contributor the two years he played.

Ouch. Eustacy is a good coach, but I think he's got a huge mountain to climb this year.

Going to be a long year in Fort Collins. Eustachy will circle the wagons and they'll ambush a few superior teams at home (it's our job to make sure we're not one of them), but it's going to be a major dose of reality in about 5 weeks for a fan base that has somehow largely convinced itself they're Dance caliber again.

Only pinheads like 'gasm feel this way. Most CSU fans realize they're in a rebuilding mode. How could they not be? You don't lose your entire starting five plus the guy who was supposed to be your starting point guard and just go on the way things were before. It doesn't work that way. The only way CSU gets to the dance this year is if they buy a ticket.

Remember the fanbase you are talking about here

I have seen numerous "We are now a basketball school" posts when I have dared enter Rammnation. I think they will take losing hard. Buffs should take the game seriously though, it will not be given to them.

Should very much be a rebuilding year for CSU. They should have the goal to develop as many as their young talents as they can. Should be a good 2014 for them, if they are able to do that.

Feel bad for Carr. He's the type of fundamentally solid player I like to watch and who can help lead upsets over more athletically gifted opponents. Hate to see him not only miss out on last year's zenith for the program with all of those other seniors but for him to also miss his 2nd chance at a senior year.

Spencer Dinwiddie would be the 4th tallest eligible player on CSU's roster. We win going away imo

You would think so. But CU really hasn't won going away on the road very often. Even Utah gave us a game a couple years back, and that team was downright awful.

No matter how bad they are, it's going to be the one game that place will be packed for. Their Super Bowl if you will.

I'm expecting one of AF or CSU to pull an upset on us.

CU has also never had a team as talented as this squad is, and I doubt many have had the preseason hype that this team is going to have. On top of that, we have a pretty experienced squad, even if they are young by age.

Hope you're right. The talent is certainly there, but other then Ski and Spencer, we are very young. Need X and Josh to take a big step and be more mature then the typical sophomore. Want to avoid some of the bad losses after big wins that we had last year.

That is the key... and I think they will be just fine.

Age wise we are young, but we have a lot of experience in our starting five coming back.

Senior laden teams are pretty uncommon in college basketball. Having two juniors like ski and the mayor is better than the vast majority of teams we will face. I think XJ is gonna blow up this year. So much potential there.

Tough break for the kid. Feel sorry for him personally, and hope he eventually gets fully healthy. Don't really care how it affects the goats.

I think both X Johnson and Josh Scott should have very good to great years. And Ski and Spencer obviously have a few years of experience that should help them immensely. But the bench will be very young. Lot of talent there, but there will be some growing pains with 6 Freshmen on the roster. Even the two redshirts, will have some rough patches adjusting to the college game.

I think the one player that is rarely mentioned, that I happen to be fairly high on is Xavier Talton. Think the way he played last year should help him this year.

Not trying to knock the team too much. Know they will have moments where they can beat anyone. Just think they'll have a game or two where they could lose to almost anyone as well.
