Thank you, PRich. Students aren't going to listen to a pack of 35 year old glory day livers on a website.

Maybe some guys still in Boulder can help me on this, but from what I've seen, our student section is looking pretty pathetic this year. Granted, when I was a student we were still mediocre turning to utter **** ('03-'08), but we still showed up (although a lot of us well after the kickoff). It sounds like a ghost town now. How sad...

Students are not engaged.

Blaming them is misguided and accomplishes nothing, though. It's never the customer's fault for not caring about your product.

Horrible timing. This should have been done way earlier in the week. Students either don't see that message or see it too late.

At what point does the CU AD and the admin itself finally come to the realization that they are to blame for the student apathy? Treat the students like *****, and they will choose to engage in other activities. They're voting with their feet.

I was thinking that maybe the AD should use some bribery tactics to get the students there, and there early.

An example: Use a "spirit points" system, that goes toward getting postseason benefits in football, basketball, etc. A student gets a point per game in attendance, and two points if in attendance at least 15 minutes prior to kickoff. This can easily be figured out since they scan the students' BuffOne cards at the gate. By tying the football into the basketball (not unlike the sports pass), this system can help guarantee more of a hardcore student fanbase if they want to have a chance at a basketball PAC-12 Championship trip or one to the NCAAs.

In addition to the "spirit points," there could be giveaways each game. Maybe free season tickets for the next season, a game in the AD box, an end zone "couch seat," free burritos, pizza, t-shirts, etc. I wish it didn't have to be like this, but unfortunately, due to the quality of the product on the field, and the current student involvement in football games, something needs to be done.

Yeah, something needs to be done- stop treating the students like indentured servants. Do away with the student only entrance.

Mike Bohn was the master of selling sizzle instead of the steak.

How about a big juicy diet of grade A prime winning for a change?
