I have Air force and Army on in the background right now. Good lord, if we don't beat Airforce by 30 I'm gonna be pissed. They look like a high school team.

Already got my eyes on #24 Virginia vs #14 VCU in a few days. Talk about a clash of styles, I have no idea how that one turns out.

They're down, we knew that, but keep in mind it's: game 1 playing 1500 miles from home in a high school quality gym in the middle of nowhere. That said, I thought they'd beat Army.
They might, but good lord this is a big step down from what they had the last few years.

Any potential big upsets to keep an eye out for?

Maryland beating UConn wouldn't surprise me, so bigger than that. Maybe something like Ohio over Ohio St. Is Ohio going to be as good as they were last year?

This one's big, because if they won it could lead to them being undefeated with a lot of confidence heading into our game. Rowdier crowd would come with that.

Early season schedule for Air Force:

Army (N)
Jackson State (H)
CO Christian (H)
Richmond (H)
Colorado (H)

Based on what I'm seeing today, I think we're looking at a 2-2 AFA squad (losing to Richmond) that could be 1-3 if they don't play their best against Jackson State (11-18 squad last year that got better as the year went on, giving Washington State and Washington tough games in their buildings).

Do they not have 1 more game out here in Lexington (All-Military Classic)? Face the winner/loser of VMI/Citadel?

they are playing ccu?????

Yeah I just looked it up, they'll have one more game out here.

Meanwhile, Army is doing its best to give this game away. Turnovers, fouling 3pt shooters, player control foul... just ****ing awful.

pretty ugly - but would like AF to pick up the games they can for whatever benefit it gets us.....

Air Force lost all their good seniors especially Michael Lyons. He was a beast for them and almost single handily beat the Buffs two years ago in the Springs.

Absolutely. This one has an RPI impact for the Buffs. AFA beating all the teams besides CU on its creampuff non-conference schedule will directly benefit our RPI on that road win (assuming we get it) while indirectly helping us by also being a benefit to the RPIs of Wyoming and CSU since they each play AFA twice in MWC play.

VMI should beat Citadel. They're the better team and they're at home, although that's a BIG rivalry game so all bets are off.

So far it's Citadel. Which team should we be RPI rooting for to get the best bump for AFA?

Citadel is in the Southern Conference. VMI is in the Big South. Without actually going in and breaking down entire schedules, the Citadel and the Southern Conference seemingly would be better for RPI. My opinion on this is almost entirely based on Davidson being in that conference though. The Big South is awful.

Edit: Apparently VMI will rejoin the Southern Conference next year. But that doesn't really matter for this year's purposes. At least the Southland isn't involved. Then I'd be really confused.

SoCon is definitely better, but VMI is supposed to be competitive in the Big South whereas Citadel is picked dead last in the SoCon

Florida in a semi-tight contest with Northern Florida. Up by 10 (UNF shooting FT's right now) with 2 and change left. Not where you would expect #10 to be.

ESPN gamecast messed up for me and had UNF leading... Bastards got me all excited. On a side note Patric Young had a pretty rough start to his senior campaign. Did anyone watch? Was he not out there most of the game?

No he was out there, shots weren't falling. Off night.

Oklahoma putting some distance, which I am guessing is good as a common opponent for Bailer, Kansas and Okie Lite.

ESPN gamecast is KILLING me right now, they keep reversing all the scores on me. It was showing UCONN 6 and Maryland 13.
