Good history but not great in this era. And with no natty to their record they ain't won sh-t to be talking like they're bored of the Rose Bowl. Respect the program and respect the conference. Now they look silly (and the unis help).

At least under Chip the team had an attitude that gave them a chip on their shoulder and I never had to worry about that team quitting. Under Helfrich all this team has done is regress and become soft. I hope he is gone after this season no matter what happens from here on out. Sadly I don't see the team winning the Civil War and hell they might even lose whatever pathetic bowl game they make it too.

I think they end up winning the Civil War easily after the wake-up that was todays game. I agree with your point about Chip's teams. I think the winds of entitlement have been blowing in Eugene and things are changing from innovative coaching motivating 3 star talent and putting them in a position to succeed and now that the O is the hip place to be for higher ranked recruits they are getting spoiled by the facilities and attire and calling W's because of the name on their jersey. Mark Helfrich doesn't want a Mack Brown label by being the nice guy who recruits and has more talent than he knows what to do with but can't toughen them up to play with the hard-nosed teams at all.
Chip left with his "legend" status still intact.
Even with a lot of talent it is rarely a good idea to follow someone who is a legend in the minds of the fanbase. Credit goes to the guy who is gone and blame is all yours.
This is not to say that Helfrich is a good coach but few guys have done well taking over in situations like he did.
