Is anybody really disappointed?

The only disappointment I have is that I think CU may have left a game, possibly two, on the field. Progress was made. This team was better than last year's team. I expect next year's team to be better still. Nothing flashy, but steady progress is a good thing, IMO.

I'll take our 4 wins, no matter who they're against. I agree, this team was far superior to the joke we saw last year.

I am a bit skeptical with PRich's probable departure.

Agree completely.

We are a long ways from being good but at least we have hope rather than outright embarrassment.

I'm disappointed because the Buffs played the way the way most of us expected .

Just once , I would like to be pleasantly surprised

This season was about getting the players to buy in. They have. There's good leadership, some decent recruits coming in and progress is being made. If we make a bowl next season and start making some headway we'll be on our way to some double digit win seasons in a few years.

Amen. It's so sad to look at this big picture: We just went 4-8 and some people are not disappointed based off of how low our expectations this season were. Just revolting to me.

Not blaming the fans, but it is just so sad to see.

Sure, I'm disappointed we are not playing for the MNC.

I expected 2-3 wins, with a loss vs Fresno State and a tight game with CSU.

I'm pretty happy with the improvement. And when people talk about next year's LB's, expect Olugbode to be in the mix. I think he gains 20 pounds by then and will be pretty competitive.

i just wish we would have hired this guy instead of Embo.

we are bad. but getting better. we'll see from here out. we got a young QB a lot of game snaps in conference....and that's a good thing.

on to hoops season....

Sounds about right. At face value 4-8 sounds pretty respectable but it really isn't that special when you look at the 4 teams we beat. I guess on the bright side at least we beat the teams we were supposed to beat.

Having Gillam a year older, Rippy, and Olubode instead of what we started this year with should make a major difference at LB. Still not great but much better.

Buffs didn't bring intensity to a couple games and really started slowly in some others.

But there are some things I feel pretty good about.

Toward the top of my list (and something that doesn't get enough attention), is that I'm loving our Strength & Conditioning program. First season in a long time where the injuries didn't seem above the norm. My perception is that it was much lower. For example, when was the last time we were able to start the same 5 OLs for every game? The reports of the gains the redshirts have been making in their training have been very positive, too.

I go into this offseason with some confidence that next year's squad will pass the eyeball test and we won't be hearing any more whispers by people who have attended our practices saying off the record that we look like a 1-AA team.

I'm not disappointed and not satisfied either.

It is okay to outplay expectations at some point.

It would have been ok with me, if we didn't suck this season, even though I expected us to. So in that regard, I'm disappointed. I'll be disappointed when we suck next season, too. Even though I will expect that as well

Disappointed in the game, yes. Disappointed in the season, no. We outperformed most expectations. Not by a lot, but some.

Not disappointed. Expected 3-5 wins. Until we get a functional o line, I'm keeping my expectations low.

Maybe I'm just a hopeless optimist, but I think help is on the way.

* Jack Harris may come back for another season depending on his decision to appeal to the NCAA.
* Mark Mustoe will be back, he's looked good but unfortunately was hit by a car before the season. Was the #2 LT on the depth chart.
* Daniel Munyer is probably a better C than he is a RG. He's undoubtedly a better center than Handler.
* Crabb is decent, I think he'll come around. He should be able to open the season at one of the guard spots. Or center depending on what the staff's thoughts are there.
* Jeromy Irwin looked pretty good in the past. He'll be back and competing for a T or G position.
* Huckins, Graham and Kronshage all looked pretty decent early on and should be able to develop.
* Still plenty of JUCOs up for grabs.

I think HCMM realizes the importance of a good line and he's made it a big priority.

I'm far from satisfied. I doubt any Buff fans are satisfied. This is the first glimmer of hope we've had for a long time, though. My concern is that the rest of the conference is getting better, too. And they're getting better at a faster pace than we are.

There were some things I liked, and some things that I didn't. I believe when you're the underdog, have to take your shots and have an aggressive game plan. Too many times, I felt that Mac was content keeping the game a 2 score game. Really felt we dropped the ball in the UCLA and Utah games.

Personally, I think P-Rich willed the team to at least 2 of our 4 wins. I'd say we're improved from last year, but wouldn't be shocked at all to see CU take a step back next season, if PRich leaves.

I know what you mean, but a step back would mean a three win season or worse. I don't know if I see that in the cards for the Buffs next year.

Am I disappointed based on what I expected going into the season? No. For the first time in years I can actually feel a little flicker of hope at the end of a season.

Am I disappointed that we're in this deep ****ing hole, trying to figure out just how to compete with a decent team? You're damn ****ing right I am. But that hole was dug years ago.

Hell yeah I'm disappointed. Not surprised. Encouraged a bit. Disappointed nevertheless.

That's what we need to try to keep in mind as fans.

MacIntyre didn't break this. He's here to fix it.

Let's try to be patient and supportive. Give the guy a chance. This was a dumpster fire.

I'm not disappointed at all. We were IN games this year, especially in the 2nd half. That did not happen last year and is a reflection of good coaching. I can't wait to see how this staff develops our young players.

Last season Utah wins this game by at least 35.

I don't think that's fair. One place where I give Embree credit is that he had the team fired up to play the final against Utah both years. Those were his best games. If he'd had the team play like that every week, things would have been different.

If only we had been in this game in the first half...

This.

After redshirting Wright (really smart move), seeing Crawley's development, Gillam's play this season, seeing Awuzie grow, getting Rippy to transfer, redshirting Reed... I just think the team has made a lot of good moves and I'm excited to see the improvement next season.

Agree with OP, we could have done better and that leads to some disappointment. All in all though, you can see the progress.

We won 3 more than I expected, and left a couple on the field. I'll be happy with the same total, but at least one more Pac 12 win next year. Good luck on this recruiting cycle and Go Buffs!
