INDIANAPOLIS—The NCAA national office Wednesday announced 523 sites have been awarded as hosts in 82 of its 89 championships between 2014-18, and the University of Colorado was selected to host the 2016 NCAA Ski Championships in Steamboat Springs, Colo.

“We are excited to put together another great championship,” CU head coach Richard Rokos said. “Steamboat Springs has such a great history with the NCAA Championships and other elite level skiing. We will look to improve upon the quality championships we put together in both 2006 and 2010.”

Buffs won the NC two times out of four times when they hosted the championships in Steamboat Springs.

Maybe Utah will finally win a NC as a Pac-12 member in skiing. Those Utes haven't won a conference or national championship since they joined.

**** that. Buffs own the mountain.

If you look at the past 15 years, I thought for sure you would see a running trend where CU did better when the championship was in the west and not the east, but it wasn't completely true. Out of 10 first or second place finishes, six where in the west (including one in Alaska) and four were back east. I'm surprised.
